Sounds like a constitutionally-required “grandfather clause,” i.e., that people already enrolled in a program, or already issued a work permit, cannot have it revoked just because the program is no longer available for new applicants.
This was a terrible descision by Trump and by excusing it, conservatives send a message that betrayal on this issue will be tolerated. That makes it more likely to happen again.
Nobody's excusing it. We're simply keeping it in perspective of the overall great progress that has been made on immigration.
The malcontents—who can never look on the bright side—are simply obsessing as they indulge their routine Trump-bashing impulses.
Conservatives couldn't have dreamed of electing a President better than Donald J. Trump. Making the perfect the enemy of the good—especially on the immigration issue, where President Trump is doing great—is both petty and disingenuous. Indeed, it's laughable.
There's nobody the nitpickers could name who comes anywhere close to such a magnificent choice for President as Donald Trump is. We couldn't have been more fortunate.
So the #SometimesTrump hand-wringers can keep bellyaching about campaign "promises" which the President has so callously failed to honor.
Meanwhile, the rest of us will try to find it in our hearts to forgive President Trump his countless transgressions...
I agree, ending the birthright citizenship is completely necessary. Otherwise illegals are going to continue to come here to have their children. They did it when I was growing up and I’ll Paso, long before the real invasion began. They cost taxpayers billions. Plus we’re stuck with them after that.
The DREAM ACT never passed Congress. Obama illegally implemented it as an executive action. It is not a law.
It is just as illegal and unconstitutional today as when Obama did it in 2012. The GOP should have sued to stop it then, but did not because they want amnesty too.
It was the states who successfully sued to stop DAPA.
We will immediately terminate President Obamas two illegal executive amnesties in which he defied federal law and the Constitution to give amnesty to approximately five million illegal immigrants, five million.

Really? Than why all the current moaning about Trump stopping DACA?
It does still leave us with DACA, another illegal executive action. It's going to be difficult to get through this legacy of patchwork law breaking actions.
Because we Trump supporting Republicans still are divided on what to do with the decades long lawlessness of elected officials, who did not enforce the laws, and what to do about children whose parents were essentially aided and abetted by certain elements in our country, to aid foreigners to commit illegal acts.
Frankly, I much prefer serious discussions undertaken regarding DACA illegals, rather than the often fondly cited “comprehensive immigration reform”.
And I want an end to all illegal immigration.
Ivanka effect ??
There is a county in Virginia, Prince William, I think that cracked down a few years ago by cooperating with ICE, and many Hispanics moved away. Businesses folded and other economic damage. I don’t know if the county has recovered, but Google Prince William Co., VA economic effects of anti immigrant crackdown. See what you find. Mind be interesting.
