They obviously want a resurgence of 60’s style violent activism ala SDS, Weather Underground, Black Panters, etc. Almost like history must repeat itself from time to time. Trump won’t allow it

The 60's violence you allude to was perpetrated by a very small group of agitators and denounced by everybody including academia, the media, and both political parties.

Today's situation is very different. The former Kenyan president ramped us up to this point by telling people "if they bring a knife, you bring a gun". Can you imagine any other president saying that? And the media, academia, and at least one political party gave him a PASS. Many in the aforementioned institutions are giving tacit approval or remaining silent in the face of yesterday's attempt at mass political assassination.

The media and academia have learned nothing, they are doubling down. Elements of the democrat party are doubling down. This could get very, very ugly.
