Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be testifying before congress today and his former democrat colleagues have promised to tear him limb from limb. Fired FBI Director James Comey previously testi-lied that it was his opinion Jeff Sessions was placed inside the U.S. Attorney Generals office to coordinate with Vladimir Putin. Gottabe a spy, ohmygosh.
AG Jeff Sessions response will take place at approximately 2:30pm EDT today. Tickets for the circus level fiasco are sold out and media are breathless with anticipation.

I remember the summer of Watergate. It was all that was discussed. It commanded center stage. Same thing with the Contra mess. Not so much the klintoon impeachment as I recall since it was just a trashy spectacle.
I’m having trouble understanding just what Mueller is to investigate and how it got so blown out of proportion so fast. I know though that his remit is too broad, he is seriously conflicted, should resign if he had any sense of honor and propriety (which he nor any rat does), is on a witch hunt and will be successful somehow he will find or create something to prosecute. The rinos hate Trump as much as the rats do becuase he is peeing in their pool.
Tillerson is the only department head that is actually doing what I think Trump instructed, Mattis is second but not making progress fast enough in my book though I am allowing for him just keeping his mouth shut and doing instead of talking about it much, Pruitt may make progress at EPA and I hope he actually dismantles the damn place, I’ve not seen a thing from Carson which is what I expected but he is still a nice intellegent guy, not happy about Chao at all and her associations or the infrastructure privitization ploy, etc.
Listen to me. I’m on your side. I love the Constitution, our country, and our President. I served in this country in the military for over 22 years. The problem is, Jeff Sessions created this mess by his own sin of pride and ego. Nothing changed about that today. And we are stuck with this. I have to ask you the same question, did you watch the same thing I watched? Because I looked at all the news, watched all of the highlights, and I’m watching FOXNews right now. Sessions was just as ineffective and dithering in all the clips as I saw.<.p>Hope is not a strategy. To hope that Sessions overcame this mess is wrong. At best, at the very best, Trump will survive all of this. Helluva job by Jeff. Thanks a lot.
Around here, it’s especially strange how that short of Sessions striding in, cowboy style, with two six shooters aimed at the “intelligence” panel, Sessions is considered a flop.
Oh please. I am not whining. I can accuse you of the same thing for supporting and cheerleading. You are ignoring the situation and the political facts. You cannot deny that we are in a horrific situation because of Jeff Sessions and his cowardly recusal. His testimony today was weak, and did nothing to prevent and stop the bleeding. Moreover, I am continuing to watch clips on the news even now. And what I see are Democrats parading and stepping all over him. I do agree he is a Christian man. I agree he has integrity. But he screwed up. Big time. And there is no repairing the damage at this point. At the very, very, very best, President Trump will survive a political war that Sessions helped by twisting the knife.
What a plus. /s
++++
Actually it’s a huge plus because the reason he gave has NOTHING to do with the Russian connection.
Nothing. Zero. Zippo.
Policy is that the Attorney General must recuse himself from investigations related to the Presidential campaign. You may not like that rule. I don’t. But it’s the rule.
Blah blah blah.
Not that I agree with it, and "strange" probably isn't the word I would use, but that sort of sentiment has been around here since FR was founded. Some people are impatient, and it's not unusual for the more persistent vocal ones to have a "controversial" point of view. Scare quotes, one man's controversy is another man's manna.
Quite a few people are harsh on Milqutoast Sessions, Spicer, Tweety Trump, and so on.
I try to stifle the urge to attempt persuasion -- have tons of room for improvement ;-)
I won't respond in kind with your profanity. Let's just say that we agreed to disagree regarding Sessions.
Yes I'm an adult. Are you? What a ridiculous question. I refuse to engage in the blatant cheerleading in the hope that making manure smell better is hope. Admit it. The best we can hope for is that Trump is going to survive this politically. That's the best situation. The worst situation is that this will cripple his presidency for months and years and possibly forces him out of office. And Jeff Sessions is directly responsible for the situation we are in now. Do you deny that? If so, you deny the facts.
I saw Drudge’s headline. I would not call this a smack down by any stretch of the imagination.
Perhaps you could be a speech writer for Jeff Sessions.
Didn’t you read the terms of use for FR? It expressly states, under no uncertain terms, that there shall be no differences of opinion here and that there shall be no criticism whatsoever of the party line, the elected Trump or any of his looootenants!
Any positions contrary to these terms will be met with profanity laced attacks on your intelligence and ancestry, ad hominem attacks and just downright nastiness!
Now, get in line and get with the program and become a fawning toady of all that is Trump or shut up!
Only slight sarcasm off because that is the way it seems most days so you have to get a thick skin, ignore the attacks or leave. If you didn’t know it, civility is dead since people can now hide behind their alias and tagline. That is beginning to extend to public encounters that remind me of our kittens thinking they are still hidden behind a clump of grass and therefore safe. Someday someone may be shocked to learn there is no alias protecting him and get the living crap kicked out of him by someone not quite so restrained or polite.
For all the good our opinions do though we are merely venting on a public stage and all of us wasting our breath in this modern day “speaker’s corner”.
She is NBC. She was born in Oakland, CA.
None of your imaginary other qualifications actually exist.
Well thank you m’am!
... Jeff Sessions is the best attorney general weve had since Ed Meese under Reagan. Hes also arguably the most conservative member of Trumps cabinet. He is as strong as a person could get on illegal immigration and law & order, two of Trumps biggest campaign issues. Sessions followed the very clear-cut DOJ guidelines to recuse himself since he had been part of Trumps campaign, but a small minority of very vocal people here are attacking him in ridiculous ways for doing what he, as the leading lawyer in the nation, was supposed to do and for not acting unethically. Its unbelievable that this should happen to such a stellar conservative and human being.

I completely agree. I watched the whole thing and saw Sessions stick it to the dems. His answers were clear and very confidently delivered. What a relief he is after Holder and the witch, whose name I don’t recall.
Lol. I have to laugh. I was around when it was a federal crime to insult Bush. In a while, the crime became defending him.
Same chit, different President.
Your sarcasm here is most appropriate and on target. For all those reading, let's review the facts.
The Russian story is a witchhunt and completely fabricated by the Democrats. That much, we all agree. It could have been squashed and should've been from the beginning. But because of the ego of Jeff sessions and his maniacal effort to preserve his "reputation", he recused himself. For what? Because he served on the Trump campaign? You have to be kidding me. These people are politicians. It's like meeting with an ambassador is a crime now?
Sessions "reputation" was more important to him than the entire President Trump agenda, including our military men and women, the budget, our border security, and anything else. Congratulations Jeff.
Delivery is everything . . .
You remind me . . . did you ever watch Sessions’ predecessor in the Senate? He was a quintessential good ole boy southern democrat. I was in college when the Anita Hill fiasco was CNN’s hot news of the month. Senator Heflin was such a blow toad. Funny stuff.

Mr. Sessions's appearance did little to move the White House beyond the shadow of Russia-tinged investigations, which have for months consumed the president and his team - often with firestorms of Mr. Trump's own making.
