“We must recognize that discrimination is not accepted, there is no excuse,” the Safe Space Pledge declares. “It is our responsibility to intervene, safely, in situations where discrimination has occurred.” —— Unless the discrimination is against a conservative or another person who does not conform to our beliefs and opinions.

The pledge goes on to state that students “must come together to create a safe environment in which diversity and inclusion are appreciated and where everyone is welcomed.” —— Except people with conservative values or opinions and especially except conservative and patriotic speakers.

The school’s “community standards” website advertises a “Safe Space Training” for “students, faculty, and staff” who wish to develop “skills to effectively support, affirm, refer, and advocate for LGBTQ+ community members” and learn “how to respond to and report incidents of hatred including assault and harassment.” —— Except and unless the object of the ridicule, hate, vitriol, shame and violence happens to be conservative or otherwise does not share our political opinion.

“The training is meant to enhance sensitivity and raise awareness of underrepresented and oppressed identities,” —— Except the underrepresented people of conservative values and opinions. Screw those evil deplorables.

Safe Place for Whom, may I ask?

Discrimination is endemic to education. Instruction is given and those who best grasp the instruction receive better grades than those who don’t. Discrimination.
