Well, he's been underestimated at every step. I am willing to see what Sessions does here in the next few weeks.
But i'm watching. If PDJT starts getting injured i will start losing confidence in sessions....
Is there anything to stop Rosenstein from allowing the expansion? Does Rosenstein have to inform or consult with anyone before doing so?
Of the answer to either question, espcially the first, is “No,” then something has to be done.

Yes - there needs to be multiple special counsels - each looking into a lefty issue. And as Mueller knows, they’ll all lead to Comey [and him].
If the multiple ICs move forward, we’ll have competing groups and the people will have to decide.
If Mueller et al decide to hang it up b/c too much risk, that’s ok too. But later they’ll still get investigated he he he
I say - time for multiple ICs.
The principle that the expansion is reasonably related to the initial grant. But that is just a general principle of drawing boundary lines around investigations, which is at bottom a fact-finding activity. If the facts and witnesses Mueller is dealing with in the Manafort, Sessions, Flynn, Carter Page investigations into campaign colluding with the Russian government turn up additional names doing the same sort of activity, that expansion naturally fits.
Oick some other expansion - it's nonsense to argue or analyze them in the abstract. Trump obstructing that investigation? Non-starter, trust me. Sure, the press and DEMs make things up, but there is nothing there for many reasons, and Mueller isn't going to touch it.

Another example of the depth and breath of "The Deep State".
Comey stated in his address to Congress that he wrote his memo, in the hopes that a special prosecutor would be called
by his own admission, he planned it this way.
And just who would be that special prosecutor end up being, his predecessor, personal friend, and mentor, Robert Mueller.
It's just another "daisey-chain" which demonstrates the depth of the "Deep State" resistance to 'draining the SWAMP'.
Was it not obvious that this was going to happen when Mueller’s first action as Counsel was to meet privately with Comey to “collect materials?”
Well, if it's on Twitter, it MUST be true.
Really, if we yell and scream about the left-wingers using "anonymous sources" or "unnamed insiders" as legitimate news sources, how can we use "Justice Department Source" for reliable information?

The one concern I have is, these dominos have been all too conveniently placed. From Flynn, to Sessions recusal, to Comey, to Mueller. Now Mueller stocks his staff will those having a vested interest in bringing Trump down. There’s no way Deep State would be this obvious in baiting Trump to dismiss the Special Counsel, without having a reaction strategy they want to initiate.
They are acting like they have set a primrose path to impeachment, but sacking Mueller alone would not be enough to justify it. They still need to overcome the hurdle of picking off ~20 Republican Senators.
I don’t have any thoughts yet as to what the next play is. Muh Russia is dead. Mueller will be shut down shortly. It doesn’t look like Trump has blundered into any process crime.
I think President Trump knows what he’s doing...He did not get to where he is in business and this election by being blind and not knowing what is going on around him...
Trump, I believe, has his own plan and it will take place at the right moment...
As we have seen since the election, Trump’s timing is impeccable....
Slightly OT. FWIW. Sessions could end the entire matter today. All he has to do is show Comey committed a crime. Not hard to do since Comey already admitted to several crimes. Get him with his own Memos, notes, etc... Make a fool out of Comey and then charge him. Go down the list to whomever is next. Hillary, Lynch, Obama, etc... Mueller will fold quickly. tie him to crimes from past. Sessions is head of the DOJ. He either has it in him or he doesn’t. Today its $hit or get off the Pot.
Sessions was the first main line beltway conservative to endorse Trump. I suppose that’s why he had his pick of cabinet perches and he chose DOJ.

Comey is meeting with Muller so they can keep their stories straight!
Many of these Pollyannas on our side are the same ones (”not the hill to die on” types) who insisted that those of us who think he’s a shill were paranoid for objecting to MSM partisans moderating the presidential debates & for saying that fall that Democrats (Brazile, for one) were feeding her Thighness debate and press questions ahead of time.

I give it better than half that Mueller is gone in a fortnight. He gets about 6 weeks on the government payroll along with all those partisan Dems he’s hiring, but it’s another line for your resume Mueller.
And Congress, if you want a Special Counsel chasing BS ghosts, hire one yourself. However your Congressional careers may not last very long, especially if you are a Repub.
Mueller now risks being fired by Trump for being biased.
