As much as I would like this to be true, alas it is FAKE. The dates recorded are not in the British style.

Please think outside the box. Consider the following to explanations -

(1) I've read before that in the Kenya Protectorate there was a practice of using both (or dual) date formats (Day/Month and Month/Day)

(1) Perhaps the CPGH Mombasa hospital in 1961 purposely used American date format (their decision or the Obama's) because the record was for the baby of an American woman (i.e., Stanley Obama) and would like be used in the US later?

That assumes they would have known about the format differences or someone would have told them to do it. Those are both possible, but not that likely. I mean it's not the natural, expected thing parents or clerks think about when a child is born.
