Jean Marie Le Pen is the number one reason that Marine Le Pen didn’t win the election.
I just went to “Le Figaro” and used Google translate to dig into some of the results by district.
Marine Le Pen ran in Pas-de-Calais 11th District (northern France right across from SE England).
She was the leading candidate in the first round with 46.02 percent of the vote. Her first round presidential vote in the district was 41.12 percent and her second round vote in this district was reported (not by Le Figaro in this story) to be 58 percent.
Her Macronist opponent Anne Roquet won 16.43 percent of the vote and will be her opponent in the second round next week.
All candidates who get under 12.5 percent are eliminated from the second round.
It looks like Marine Le Pen is on course to win the second round next week in her district and reach the National Assembly for the first time in her political career. She is already a regional legislator in northern France and a member of the EU Parliament.
Centrist in mediaspeak is Far-left/Socialist. “Far Right” in mediaspeak is moderate.
That’s my take on it also.
If it were far right, it would have to go way beyond the U.S. Constitution toward the right. Observing the Constitution is dead center.
The Left won’t even defend the Constitution. They are a long way from it’s tenets, and they know it. They are the far Left/Socialists. It can’t be refuted for a win.
Centrist my foot! Poor France!
