If you want to see investigative journalism at its finest hour just watch how George Webb does it. This is from today. Unfortunately it’s over a lot of our heads If you don’t have prior knowledge of his other stuff.
Its in regard to the killing of Molly McCabe who was a scientist and now we learn had CIA connects big time so no telling what was really going on here. Lots of suppositions.
Webb however is brilliant in how he puts stuff together.
Remember this is raw data no firm conclusions yet.
Definitely worth a watch on both videos.

Hey!
You’re in Oprah’s adopted town.
Also, I think Dennis Miller resides in Santa Barbara!

Santa Barbara is a little too “up North” for me. Weather is always too chilly for me, too. Ditto for their ocean temperature. I need my ocean temp between 68-72. It is a lovely town. Quaint shops with a nice village atmosphere. I know you can enjoy yourself for a week!

The first paragrpah in closing Hindraker's piece is important. I agree with the opinion he concludes with, too. Pure partisan.

In short, Comey's statement to the Senate Intelligence Committee that "I didn't feel, with President Bush, the need to document it in that way" was false. He did document his story about his meeting with President Bush, in great detail, in a "report" that was turned into "unclassified notes."

James Comey says there is a pattern to his dealings with presidents: he is an honest man who only needed to create memos to document his conversations with Donald Trump, because Trump is untruthful. But that isn't the real pattern. The real pattern is that Comey is a snake in the grass who creates tendentious, self-serving memos that can later be used to cover his own rear end or to discredit presidents, but only if they are Republicans.

If I have heard nothing last week as I listened to James Comey is...that you are right cousin Mike.

Comey is nuts and I must shudder.

Am I to understand that the head of the FBI is a bit nuts, leaks like a sieve and decides who gets investigate or not?

This country is sinking. Let’s hope we can somehow save it.

Please remember the conventional wisdom about Comey when he popped into the headlines a couple years ago to handle Hillary's email/security issues. "Straight shooter" everyone claimed. How do you like the political hack now ?

Again, we hear Robert Mueller is the pillar of integrity. We'll see won't we, but don't hold your breath. And so much for conventional wisdom.

Any experience with him, kabar ?

-- Maybe Sessions has notes on his meetings with Comey. --

Sessions is wise. I put tons of faith and trust in where he goes. He's never, not one time, uttered a remark that I took as potentially misleading.

In the business of governing and judging, there are very few good men. He is one of those few. In the Senate, he was one of 2 that I considered to be decent. DeMint being the other one. ALL the rest of them are duplicitous weasels. That he got elected to the Senate is as much a miracle as Trump's election.

The 6th District may be lost. Lots of Trump voters do not want to support Republicans until leadership changes.

Now this is potentially a marvelous development. If the local voters do not replace their local RINOs than they should bear the bitter fruit. And what I understand the "republican" running for this seat is a RINO

In Houston this past election cycle the voter turnout was very low. The Democrats WON all of the Houston elective positions. Now we are enjoying higher property taxes.

The Primary season has begun - if you do not have an opponent to you local RINO, try and find one

Take a gander at this article: Former Bush AG On Comey’s 2007 Brush With Scandal: ‘Jim’s Loyalty Was More To Chuck Schumer’

"Gonzales’s descriptions of his interactions with Comey, included in his 2016 book “True Faith And Allegiance,” are detailed and extensive. While his tone is measured, the language he uses to describe Comey’s actions in 2004 and 2007 leaves little doubt about the former top Bush official’s views on Comey’s character. Gonzales’s opinion is clearly colored by the fact that Comey cravenly used him to jumpstart his own political career by going public with surprise (and questionable) testimony that Gonzales had attempted to take advantage of a deathly ill man in order to ram through authorization of an illegal surveillance program."

"Gonzales was taken aback by Comey’s appearance and testimony. It turns out that was by design. Comey kept secret his pre-hearing planning with Schumer and his staff to maximize the fallout of the bomb he planned to drop on Gonzales and the Bush administration. In a significant breach of protocol, Comey also refused to share with the White House or the Department of Justice that he had planned to testify about his work at DOJ, a move which made it impossible for the White House to consider whether it needed to assert executive privilege over portions of Comey’s planned testimony."

"As fate would have it, the Schumer staffer who spearheaded the entire spectacle was none other than Preet Bharara, a former employee of Comey’s in the U.S. attorney’s office in New York. Bharara, like Comey, was fired by President Donald Trump earlier this year. And Bharara, like Comey, owes his most recent position of authority in the U.S. government to Schumer and President Barack Obama."

"The narrative Comey provided to the Senate Judiciary Committee was riveting. But according to Gonzales, it didn’t actually happen the way it was presented. And the conflicting details between Comey’s and Gonzales’ account, given Comey’s current attempts to use his credibility and recollection of events witnessed only by himself to take down a Republican official, raise significant questions about the trustworthiness of Comey’s current claims."

************************************************************

Well, I don’t know where you live but I do live in GA6 and do not for a moment believe the polls (they are within the moe anyway with about an over all 2 point spread, even including the nonsense poll giving Ossoff a 7 point lead 10 days ago)

Republicans got 52% of the total votes in the runoff and I expect them to increase that margin by a minimum of 2-4 points.

As I said in the end, just as in the presidential race the polls are useless and are designed to PUSH the vote and not to actually report how voters feel. Add to that the almost total mistrust of Conservatives to responding to media polls and you have some idea how useless they are.

Couldn’t agree more. Sessions is the gold standard when it comes to integrity and honesty. When I hear these rumors about Sessions offering his resignation or that he might be fired, I get very disturbed. Sessions is Trump’s finest appointment. The ousting of Sessions would be an act of political suicide.

You are welcome. A big reason that I am not "on guard" with Rosenstein is the contents of the memo he composed to justify firing Comey. That memo was right on the money. Everything he said there, should have been SHOUTED by people who know how the DoJ and FBI work. I'm looking over at Congress, who encourages and perpetrates SERIOUS shenanigans. But it came out, and it is the official justification for firing Comey. It's an important historical document.

Notice that the liar Comey is pushing hard a contrary version, that he was fired because his Russian investigation was a threat to Trump or members of Trump's team.

I suppose it's true that the (manufactured) Russian investigation was a threat, but I see it as a McGuffin. The FBI was going to manufacture an issue to bring Trump down. That is the story. The fact that the issue was "Russia" is secondary, and any other manufactured issue could serve the same purpose of advancing the plot line.

Sessions my be a great guy but I’m not sure about his voracity, why hasn’t he started an investigation into Hillary at State, the Clinton Foundation, and Lynch with Bill on the tarmac. Much illegal crap going on with all this. And who appointed Mueller, he is not impartial, he is part of the swamp. Good grief.

Although not nearly as serious as his "breach of protocol" in trying to give crooked Hillary a clean bill.

I hope Comey is publicly disgraced in the coming months. meaning I hope the public comes to view him as a disgrace.

A good angle for that is to tie him to spying on political opponents. Comey would have been a player on Nixon's team in the Watergate scandal.
