As we sift through the rubble of the James Comey hearing, I have a confession to make: My descriptions of the former FBI boss as J. Edgar Comey are accurate but incomplete.
By his actions, Comey reveals himself to be a fellow traveler with Never Trumpers. His firing brought him out of the shadows and into the open “resistance” to the president.
In hindsight, their clash was inevitable.
Yes, the FBI does enormous good in catching bad guys. But the same could be said of the bureau during the long, sordid tenure of J. Edgar Hoover.
The founding G-man, Hoover kept his job because five presidents were afraid to fire him. His insurance was the dirt he secretly collected on them.
Comey is cut from the same cloth, but Trump wasn’t afraid to fire him. For his trouble, and for his mistakes in how he did it, Trump faces an investigation that could consume his presidency.
And Comey is now a driving force in the scheme to overturn the 2016 election.
Comey testified that he leaked a secret memo in hopes a special counsel would be appointed. He hit the jackpot with Robert Mueller, a long associate and mutual admirer.
Like many of our government betters, Comey forgot he was a public servant. The arrogance of unaccountable power drips from him like sweat from a racehorse.
You see it in his decision to write memos after every meeting with Trump, including the first one. He never did this with previous presidents, but didn’t trust his new boss.
Curiously for a man who claims to be nonpartisan, Comey wasn’t bothered nearly as much when a Democratic attorney general tried to meddle in the election by smothering his investigation of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails. Or when the IRS went after conservatives.

Comey is a mere foot soldier. Lynch is a bit higher up.
Use them to get Bush, Romney, and the Clintons, or let them go.
Then the Murdoch boys got their hands on it, once "dad" more or less retired. And once THAT happened, they have been ruining the N.Y. Post and FNC; though FNC has been ruined more rapidly and more completely.
Comey in the end....was a place-holder. Unqualified and simply not capable of handling the position. They got the guy that they needed.
This is so obvious - particularly when he sat on exculpatory information that he indeed did tell Trump that he was not under investigation.

If an investigation were to "consume his presidency", rather than because of any "mistakes" it can be laid at the feet of Congress....the RATS because of their utter hatred of anything non-RAT and the GOP, for similar reasons. The deafening silence of the GOP proves what a gutless, worthless and anti-American group of puss bags they truly are.
If ever there were a time for pitchforks and torches, we have reached it now.
Comey needs to be marched before a wall and shot .

J. Edgar Hoover might have had some unusual articles of clothing in his wardrobe but you didn’t see him whining and sniveling like a schoolgirl in front of the camera at senate hearings.
When Hoover was in charge of the FBI it had a stellar reputation and people looked to the FBI with confidence and respect.
A lot of it was based on good PR but they did have high standards, kept their dirty laundry in house, and got the job done.
But that was then and this is now.
It’s no longer Grandpa’s FBI.
The organization has been politicized to the point it cannot be trusted to do its primary job..
Today we see the Bureau has been led by an incompetent cringing pussy who broke his oath of office and worked to overthrow his own president.
And among the staff are back biting political operatives, “social justice warriors”, and common traitors.
The new director will have a big job ahead of him cleaning out the staff, de-politicizing the department and getting it refocused on its real purpose.
The guy said “give me a lever long enough and a place to put it and I can move the world”. Seems to me, Weiner/Abedin’s laptop is a pretty good lever and Comey is a pretty good place to put it...
