The Trump administration has approved tens of thousands of temporary amnesties for illegal immigrant Dreamers, according to numbers released Thursday that underscore a major reversal for President Trump.
The decision has enraged the president’s conservative base, which hoped he would make good on his promise to revoke the policy, known in governmentspeak as DACA. But immigrant rights advocates, who were harshly critical of Mr. Trump during the campaign, said he deserves some credit for defying his right wing and keeping the program intact.
“I definitely think that he does deserve credit for continuing a very successful program for young people who grew up here,” said Cesar Vargas, a Dreamer who is now a practicing lawyer.
Mr. Trump appears to be maintaining the pace of the Obama administration, with more than 17,000 new two-year amnesties and more than 107,000 renewal applications approved from Jan. 1 to March 30. Both numbers are comparable to the final full three months of President Obama’s tenure.

You didn’t miss anything. Trump promised wall, deportation of those who participate in criminal activity, but with regard to DREAMERS he said “I have a big heart.” And “compassion.”
He is doing the right thing. IMHO.
Well put. I even met a DACA college student who expressed his support for Trump even though he had moments of worry over his status. He is a solid Christian young man from Mexico studying Criminal Justice and his dream is to one day work for the FBI.
Trump promised to build the wall, deport criminal illegals, and once that’s done make a decision about the others.
He has not broken that.

DARN TOOTIN’, Still WINNING!! I just love laughing at these imposters and their over the top antics. TRUMP is not causing most to gain weight. I find losing weight from laughing so much is far more apparent. And frankly, losing weight laughing is better than losing weight due to the government’s taking all the money for their own (BO’B and elitists) leaving nothing for rent, food, etc.

I didn’t vote for “dreamers” and hordes of new dem voters. I didn’t vote for Ivanka and Jared D-NY.

Because Trump hasn’t gotten the wall going yet seedcase of our worthless GOP congress. Dreamers are media trap and should be left alone until we’ve gotten the wall funded. Remember their amnesty is temporary and can be rescinded at anytime in the future.

Why? People have migrated, immigrated, emigrated since the dawn of history. The test should be if the results of granting amnesty benefits the American people, not the recipients. The answer is no, since it acts as a magnet for more illegality, among many other things.
If private citizens want to fund them, they can send contributions to Mexico.
Two things to like about this:
1. We have formal proof of these elements in our society.
2. We get biometrics on all of them.
I am not sure of any other positive benefit.
That is why I’m paying this no heed.
It reeks of a NeverTrump/Drive-By hit piece that the usuals that sneek back on FR to post and try to talk up.

It doesn’t need an amendment, only a correct reading of the existing constitution.

Everyone is right here, the reality is Trump keeping all illegals in a state of suspension is the best we are going to do. When they commit crimes they go.

After 200 years of slavery, free black men were denied citizenship.
