Press Release
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) released the following statement after former FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee:
Former FBI Director James Comeys testimony today revealed several things: First, that President Trump demanded Comeys loyalty and tried to get him to beg for his job. Second, that President Trump asked Comey to end the investigation into Michael Flynn in order to cover up his campaigns collusion with Russia. And third, that the President, his campaign, and the Administration repeatedly lied to the American people.
This is obstruction of justice.
Republicans must now stop tying themselves in knots to defend the President. If Donald Trump was the Mayor of a small town in rural America who asked the police chief to stop investigating a friend of his who was suspected of drunk driving, we probably wouldnt be having a discussion about whether or not that Mayor was corrupt. Especially if the Mayor fired the police chief afterwards for refusing to drop the investigation. Its time for Republicans to put country before party.

Here’s a reply to Congressman Imam:
“When the Director of the FBI says three times, under oath, that they were not investigating the president and when absolutely no evidence has been produced to support any of your stuipd wet dream theories, don’t you think it’s time to knock off the crap”?
But in a way I hope they don’t because it is clear the American people are not buying it and having radicals like Ellison beating this drum only hurts their cause.

Professor Alan Dershowitz wrote the following: In his testimony former FBI director James Comey echoed a view that I alone have been expressing for several weeks, and that has been attacked by nearly every Democratic pundit.
Comey confirmed that under our Constitution, the president has the authority to direct the FBI to stop investigating any individual. I paraphrase, because the transcript is not yet available: the president can, in theory, decide who to investigate, who to stop investigating, who to prosecute and who not to prosecute. The president is the head of the unified executive branch of government, and the Justice Department and the FBI work under him and he may order them to do what he wishes.
As a matter of law, Comey is 100 percent correct. As I have long argued, and as Comey confirmed in his written statement, our history shows that many presidentsfrom Adams to Jefferson, to Lincoln, to Roosevelt, to Kennedy, to Bush 1, and to Obama have directed the Justice Department with regard to ongoing investigations. The history is clear, the precedents are clear, the constitutional structure is clear, and common sense is clear.

If OBAMA was the Mayor of a small town in rural America who asked the police chief to stop investigating Hillary who was suspected of graft, we probably wouldnt be having a discussion about whether or not that Mayor was corrupt.

Remember, this is the same Keith Ellison, the first member of the House to swear his Oath on a koran, who supports the Minn NEA’s position that some, ONLY SOME mind you, registered sex offenders should be allowed to work in the public schools (a Modest Proposal, anyone?). What does this tell us??

DNC legal reasoning
Trump hoping the Flynn investigation ends=obstruction
Deleting 30,000 emails after having been told they are subject to an FBI investigation=not obstruction.

Republicans must now stop tying themselves in knots to defend the President.
What, I must have missed that. When have the republicans defended Trump? The republicans are fully willing participants in this witch hunt. They want Trump stopped and are fine with what ever the dems and the msm want to do to achieve that end. They think they are not getting their hands dirty, but I see whats going on.
