Rick Perry: 'First-ever' natural gas exports [to northern Europe] offer hedge against Russia
Washington Examiner ^ | Jun 9, 2017, 2:56 PM | John Siciliano

The Trump administration on Friday touted the delivery of the first-ever shipments of U.S. natural gas to northern Europe as a move that will help lessen the demand for Russian energy supplies.

Energy Secretary Rick Perry said shipments of U.S. liquefied natural gas, or LNG, arrived in the Netherlands and Poland on Thursday.

"U.S. LNG has begun arriving in Europe with some frequency, providing a diverse source of supply and ensuring energy security for Europe," Perry said. "Europe has been looking to the United States as a key potential source for energy diversification to decrease Russia's leverage as the region's dominant gas supplier."

We just love it when a great plan comes together. U can see how useless the Imposter POTUS Obama was 4 this country. The POTUS should look after Americans first & foremost. This is why Donald J. Trump is so popular right now. Of course, the Anarchists will never like him since they r supported by Soros.

What applies if the LNG is gasified before coming ashore?

We need to foster closer relations with Poland. If Germany gives us too much BS we should move bases from there into Poland. Delivery of this energy to Poland is an excellent start.

I would doubt that we have sufficient tankers for that. Aren’t most shops registered in Panama or Greece?

We can build them just like we did for the Alaskan oil trade.

That is true. But, are those built for Alaska registered in the U.S.?

Yeah, we wouldn’t want Russia saving Syrian Christians from genocide again. Hopefully next time US and Saudi supported jihadists will finish the job.

Europe wouldn’t need to import any natural gas if they would just drop their childish hostility to fracking. They have more than enough frackable shale. France, Sweden and Estonia are loaded with it and several other countries have some too.

The Saudis are running out of money. They’re trying to keep their friends close and in the case of Trump, closer. We slipped their oil choker collar. Now they come bearing gifts. The Russians are going to use their resources as much as possible to preserve their options. None of that conflicts with what should be our immediate goal of energy independence.

Hello islamist quisling. Don’t you need to be on a thread advocating more mosques?

you have won the Biggest-Idiot-of-the-Day Award, where should I send it? Reviews of my comments will show that there is no one more opposed to the Islamaniacs than I.

And yet here you are defending your precious sharia law Icon from being accountable for...instituting sharia courts in America.

There are millions of Americans far more opposed to Islam than you have proved yourself to be. They would never defend an islamist from criticism for advancing islam as you are choosing to do now.

For better or worse, Perry is his own man with respect to political peer pressure. But that’s not to say he’s unresponsive to other influences.

I recall reading in recent years of US requirements that American produced oil and liquefied natural gas be shipped using American built vessels. There was concern that the required number of these ships might not be enough to satisfy demand, but it implied the opportunity for increased employment in the shipbuilding industry. I don’t know what the current status of that is, except that some ships have been built to satisfy such a requirement and more are planned. I think they’re called “Jones Act” ships.

I am truly surprised that Rick Perry has kept himself out of the News Cycles for the last couple of months. We all know how he like publicity. This is possibly a good sign of someone who wants to get the job done, not only create interesting sound bites. Carry On, Mr. Perry.

The president does not have the authority to do that. He is not a dictator. That will never happen.
