I am assuming he understands it, but is not suggesting it is superior to out system.

Reads to me like the firm he was at did transactional law, and some of the transactions required "sharia compliant" clauses or structure.

I don't see any connection between that and FBI activities.

There is a big difference between negotiating international deals, which comply with the customs of one of the parties involved, and allowing shariah to be substituted for the sovereign law of a nation.

If this connection to the nominee is just business dealings I don't have a problem with it.
