Wow! I had no idea Comey was that bad. Your post is the first I’ve seen of his prosecutorial excesses. The worst I’d read was that he’s made a career out of getting the crime-family-Clintons off the hook. But his absolutely unjust *destruction* of those two Jewish (I’m assuming) guys is sickening. Just horrible.

I really shouldn’t be as shocked. If Comey were not all the things you mentioned—a bad man, a backstabber, a liar, conniving, and duplicitous—Obama wouldn’t have picked him. I’m serious. A profound lack of integrity seemed to be Obama’s litmus test. I’m so, SO glad he’s out of the WH.

Oh, and incidentally, antisemitism would have played beautifully with Obama too. Those were eight years of hard time we did under his vile tenure. We are so blessed that Trump won.

This sounds like perjury, just based on Comey’s May 3 Senate testimony to questions from Grassley.

GRASSLEY:Director Comey, have you ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation?

COMEY: Never.

GRASSLEY: Question two, relatively related, have you ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation?

COMEY: No.

Wasn’t that hearing before Comey was fired and therefore before his memo was leaked to the NYT?

-- I had no idea Comey was that bad. Your post is the first I've seen of his prosecutorial excesses. --

Kamala Harris is pushing the structure that Comey used when appointing Fitzgerald. Comey expressly granted more authority than the DOJ Special Counsel regulations allow. That was remarkable. She argues tha the same sort of rule-breaking should apply to Mueller. Rosenstein gave a good response to that nonsense yesterday - Fitzgerald was still a US Attorney, so could be fired by Bush. Mueller is a private citizen, so it would be a bit crazy to vest in him, the full power of the DOJ, with ZERO government oversight or control. Plus, firing a special counsel requires sending written justification to Congress.

Anyway, Comey is a seriously disturbed person, and should NEVER have been allowed to advance as far as he did. Sad thing is, there are literally THOUSANDS of similar zealots in the government. Zealots gravitate to positions of trust and power.

And yes, we are lucky Trump won, and I'm sure he is just getting started at draining the swamp.

I can see your point on that exchange. It was very delicately handled. In other instances, Comey was more direct. According to CNN, Comey called Trump a liar five times. According to me, CNN is Fake News, so I’m quoting from Townhall:

‘First, Comey strongly refuted the President’s classification the FBI is in turmoil and that Comey was unpopular inside the Bureau.

“Although the law required no reason at all to fire an FBI Director, the administration chose to defame me and more importantly the FBI by saying that the organization was in disarray. That it was poorly led. That the workforce had lost confidence in its leader. Those were lies, plain and simple and I am so sorry that the FBI workforce had to hear them and I’m so sorry the American people were told them,” Comey said.’

The article contains other direct instances also:

Thanks for the list. NYT is fake news too, but I've been know to use their transcripts, CNN's too.

The first three lies in the excerpt you noted (and that's my count, not CNN's):

Those are all subjective observations. From Trump's point, they could be seen as insults, "motivational" (the stick or taunt kind), or persoannly directed at Comey, not the FBI as a whole.

There is no objective way to find those contentions true or false, they are more like opinions.

‘Anyway, Comey is a seriously disturbed person’

That’s what jumps out about him. DC is teeming with mentally unhealthy people. They have enjoyed too much power and too little criticism for far too long. It unbalances them. But even in that setting Comey stands out. There is a poisonous mix in his immaturity, self-centeredness, outsized vindictiveness, and just generally scheming, two-faced mendacity. He’s a mess.

Yes, Comey’s judgment that Trump is a liar is subjective. But the point is that he repeatedly and brazenly called Trump a liar. This is Comey’s explanation for why he (supposedly) took notes only on Trump meetings; because Trump could not be trusted.

From the same article:

‘Then, Comey said he took meticulous notes after meetings with the President because he believed it was necessary to preserve the truth. In other words, he believed President Trump would lie about the conversations.

“I was honestly concerned he might lie about the nature of our meeting and so I thought it really important to document,” Comey said.’

"I was honestly concerned he might lie about the nature of our meeting and so I thought it really important to document," Comey said.'

Yowza - I'd count that one as "calling Trump a liar" even though it's couched in a "maybe" or "he might."

It’s as you said: ‘Comey is a seriously disturbed person.’

Just sums it all up.

Did Comey make notes about his first solo meeting with then President-Elect Trump? Where are those notes?

Agree that Comey is a disgrace. But it reminds me of that old rock song, ‘Now you’re messin’ with a son of a...gun.’ (So to speak.) Comey thinks he can lie his butt off about Trump, but he hasn’t read Trump’s books.

Trump: If somebody hits me, I have to hit back harder.

If Trump’s spiritual advisors don’t give him a crash course in turning the other cheek, Comey won’t know what hit him. Trump doesn’t take it lying down.

Now I am happy.

1. WH is thinking of filing a complaint against Comey with the IG.

2. WH is questioning whether Comey had something to do with Sessions recusing himself.
