Not really.

People tend to exaggerate about these things way too much.

Turkey is a NATO member in bed with Russia and Iran that is moving troops into Qatar during the Saudi threats. Sure seems like a somewhat big deal to me.

I agree with CMB. These fast moving crises - pulling in different alliance blocks - are very ominous.

The same point was made, back in May 2017 by a highly placed Australian military man:

Former defence force chief Chris Barrie says the world is on a countdown to war and a ­“complacent” Australia will not be ready when it comes.

Admiral Barrie warned that Australia had been involved in “proxy wars” in Afghanistan and the Middle East in the past two decades, but the potential flashpoints for international-scale con­flict reminded him of the build-up to World War I.
