There is one that lives up the block from me. Owned by some woman who can not control the dog. It frequently yanks the lease from her and goes running down the street.
When I am out mowing the lawn or working in front of my house I always have my Ruger LCP handy. The dog will only come at me once and I will waste it where it stands. It may be the person and not the dog, but when they get into attack mode there is no controlling them. I read somewhere that if you grab the hind legs and lift them off the ground they will stop attacking - just long enough for me to pull my pistol and have a nice clear shot to the head...
