When you express anger about Clinton, Comey, et al with respect to various laws, nat'l security, etc, you're demonstrating that you actually believe the legal system acts as a form of protection against corruption.

If they didn't want it so, it wouldn't be. One day as a society we will wake up, or we won't, right now I give the former about 49%.

Exactly. Sessions has always worked that way. He is smart, thorough and determined. He is getting the job done. I’m a fan.

IMHO, I have a hunch Sessions is the type who knows exactly “who brung him to the dance” and as Cboldt suggests, upthread, may well have had his resignation ready at the hour he was confirmed by the Senate, for the president to effect anytime he asked for it.

Sessions started his job as AG with the same precision he exhibited as a sage in the Senate. I believe he gave Trump the notice of his recusal. Sessions always preached against a shadow of doubt for justice to be served in a pristine manner. He believed in recusals for judges and anyone in authority of wielding power over others, if they themselves were under suspicion.

If Trump knew Jeff Sessions character at all, and I believe he did, then he knew this already and would not be entirely taken by surprise that Jeff would as a matter of course recuse himself from the shadow of doubt, from “all things Russia” connected to the campaign. (Flynn though probably inadvertently caused everyone a lot of trouble.)

Sessions is no “nut”.

I HOPE the story is true. He SHOULD resign.

Only one person was pissed at my response.

The rest agreed.

Sessions could have gone down as one of the greatest men in American history by tackling the traitors and enemy agents throughout the federal government. But he outed himself as a spineless coward who will bend on command from the enemy. I don’t care what Sessions has done. That one press conference was a dire, fatal, unforgivable mistake and a huge win for the enemy.

This is foolish talk. The President sends the message he wants to send with his tweets and it may not be aimed where you think. These messages signal that he is exerting pressure to close down the leaks & the deep state. Are the tweets a form of pressure to cause the rats to get nervous and make mistakes?

This is Trump’s way of setting the stage, don’t be foolish enough to think you know where where the leverage is directed. If he wanted to put pressure on the justice department he would have many subtler ways. He chose this method because the aim is not the JD.

Recusing himself validated everything the fake news & the dems were trying to push on the Russia bs. That was a gut punch

His appointment of deputy attorney general rod rosenstein, an Obola apparatchik, was beyond the pale.

Rosenstein then turns & appoints a special council to investigate what? Dem, rino & fake news fear-mongering?

This has the kabuki party stench all over it...

Yep.

Sessions is an enemy agent. Has been the entire time.

Or they have a skeleton of his reaching for the closet door.

I’m leaning towards enemy agent the entire time. An ace in the hole. Based on how quickly he acted.

That really goes against the past 40 or so years of Sessions career.

His appointment of the deputy AG proves he cannot and should not be trusted as a champion of American values. Now, or ever again.

Top that off with his kow-towing to the enemy propaganda wing, taking a dump on all Americans, and being a spineless bastard. Then you have your answer.

I hope this story is true, and I hope he resigns.

*spit*

The past 40 years don’t matter!

He gave the enemy all they needed to keep this nonsense rolling. Not only did he give some weight to the whole Russia/Trump connection he gave the enemy an Obama loving, Trump hating deputy AG and Mueller for special counsel.

Instead of doing what he should have done. Which was appoint a law loving American as deputy AG, and special counsel to investigate treason and enemy infiltration in high places of government. Starting with Obama and the Clintons. He could have been an American hero. But chose to be an American ZERO.

Sessions is a joke. A bad one. The worst Trump pick by far. He needs to go the way of the Comey bird.

Bye bye Joke Sessions.

Now that you spewed all over this thread, I hope today is better day for you.

p.s. not everyone on here agreed with you, some of us prefer to read and watch - you’ve shown me that you are rabid in wanting to be right.

Just because a poster doesn't respond to you, doesn't mean they agree with you.

For example, I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire, and that's the last remark you'll ever get from me.

Here' si the latest risible attack from CNN, Jeff Sessions committed the one sin Donald Trump can't forgive - Chris Cillizza

The unpoardonable sin cited is the recusal. The article is the usual CNN product: pure speculation, biased anti-Trump, passed off as news.

Toxic spew. The slime oozing out from your teevee set.
