It was a homecoming of sorts for Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, President Trumps national security adviser, who gave the commencement address Saturday for 60 graduating cadets at Valley Forge Military Academy.
McMaster is a 1980 graduate of the academy and his fondness for the school seemingly has not flagged over the years.
I am happy for you because of what lies ahead for you; what you have learned here has prepared you for what is ahead, McMaster told the graduates and some 200 friends and relatives gathered at the schools parade grounds in Wayne.

My Alma Mater!!
Unfortunately the school has taken a hard progressive turn and is only a shell of what a great Academy it used to be (at least it was in the 90s).
Uh that would be America, not humanity
<- Class of 77. The last years of hazing and real $h!t formations. Miss the days of pizza runs and beer runs to The Plantation across St Davids gold course.
I remember when they advertised in Boys Life magazine when I was a kid in the 60s.
69 JC grad here. The hazing was off the chart, whew. War protesters out side the gates on Parade day Sundays. Use to go hang out at Army/ Navy parties in Philly, in our uniforms, chicks though we were pointers. One of my crazy friends got caught coming back drunk. He got 100 demerits and 100 punishment tours. Was in the glee club, we got to perform in the White House for Nixon.
I marched in Carter’s inaugural parade. Not my fav Pres but it was a cool experience.
Cool, did you ever see the Movie Taps, it brings back some great memories.
Seen Taps many times. Loved seeing real faculty and staff as background extras.
When that movie was made, I was in the the army, a Captain assigned to 1st Inf Div G-3 at Ft. Riley. My Boss Maj. Mataxis was the Son of The Comandant of Cadets. He told me that in some of the shots in the Comandants office he could see himself in some family pictures. Displayed in the desk area.
Mataxis was a good guy. His predecessor Col. Day was a dick and a half.
