Last nights attack on London Bridge and at Borough Market was actually over in under ten minutes, though the confusion and chaos in the aftermath stretched through the night as officials sorted out the details. As of this morning the damage toll stands at 7 dead and nearly 50 injured. Full credit goes to Londons first responders who reportedly shot and killed all three attackers in very short order and locked down the area efficiently so the investigation could begin. How much of a network existed in support of those three killers will likely not be known for days, if not weeks, but the authorities there are once again quick out of the gate and have arrested a dozen people in less than twelve hours. (Good job, folks.)
In the meantime, we saw two very different responses from the Mayor of London and the the Prime Minister. London Mayor Sadiq Khan, the first Muslim to hold that office, did manage to acknowledge the damage which had been done, but immediately fell back on a well practiced line indicating perhaps a bit more optimism than is warranted. This segment from Fox News includes the Mayors comments, along with a response from from Mustafa Tameez, a DHS consultant under President George W. Bush.
Theres no reason to be alarmed. One of the things the police and all of us need to do is make sure that were as safe as we possibly can be.
Im reassured that we are one of the safest global cities in the world, if not the safest global city in the world.

At Heathrow there should be a sign about entering the UK where no one has been killed for Allah in x number of days.
Worth repeating, IMHO...
That prejudice against ballerina mayors.
After the terror attacks this weekend: Londons Mayor sticks with safest global city in the world line!
Years ago, Churchill said:
Now after 7 decades of Brit PC bs and disarming the good Brits, this is the new rule!
This sums up why our second amendment is probably our most important amendment!

Yes. And it was a lot more recent than that, that London was one of the and perhaps the greatest cities in the world. Now they are “progressive” enough to have a muslim mayor.
my favorite line in that movie is-” there are no shortages of meat hooks in Berlin.”
Safe for Muslim jihadis.
Dumb. It's a worldwide network called Islam.
Nuke Mecca.
It's time to send a meaningful signal before nuking all their cities.
I wouldn’t set foot in Londonistan.
Yeh....safest if you’re a Muslim maybe.
Really stupid mayor.
Phoenix is a city half the size of London, but still 4 million metro area. We have never had a terror attack of any kind, let alone five in less than 10 years.
For one thing, we have concealed AND open carry. Yeah, a van might have gotten two or three people, but the minute a perp stepped out, several civilians would have planted those douchenozzles like barrel cacti.
Yup,I recall that big attack on the Tokyo subway about 20 years ago.Don't know if that's the only major attack the city's withstood. But given that that attack was by ethnic, home grown,Japanese I'll bet you know what point I was putting across to Mr Khan when I specified "jihadi".
What could possibly go wrong?
