I'm afraid you're wrong. Judges give such orders all the time. The judge in this case did so didn't he?

What's worse is that in civil case you don't even have a fifth amendment right to begin with. If a creditor is looking for your assets and can get you into court, the judge can order you to disclose all you accounts and throw you in jail until you do.

However in MD, my analysis is spot-on correct.

I would know, I was a prosecutor for 9 years and had to extend immunity in several cases.

Judges do f#cked up things all the time - it's why appellate courts exist.
