I’m shocked. How come those wonderful public school teachers didn’t supply the little darlings with the answers ?

Those that study and pass exams are known as Uncle Toms and are shunned in the hood. Probably some could have passed but failed on purpose so as to not act white.

Here we see black teachers, black board of education members, black school principals, etc. So they cannot blame the problems on racism.
And, as Baltimore is a city which has been run by Democrats for generations, there is no way that the problems can be blamed on Republicans.

I wonder if there was better black student achievement in the Jim Crow south, than we see today in our inner cities.

Probably, because the family was still intact. There were actually fathers in the home, and they could discipline their children.

More likely is that the urge to accomplish was thoroughly beaten out of them long before they even saw their high school.

The English portion of the exam can be given in ebonics. That should raise scores.

Probably didn’t know the answers themselves. This is Baltimore we’re talking about.

I’m just recalling those “ejucaturz” in Atlanta that gave their students the answers to tests.

There's a terrific movie about Jaime Escalante, starring Edward James Olmos. It was quite an uplifting movie.
