Trump Privately Says He's Out Of The Paris Climate Deal
Daily Caller ^ | May 27, 2017 | Ryan Pickrell

President Donald Trump privately told several confidants that he will be pulling out of the Paris climate deal, three sources with direct knowledge told Axios.

The president refused Saturday to join his Group of 7 (G7) counterparts in a pledge to uphold the 195-nation Paris Agreement. Trump tweeted that he will make his decision next week, signaling that he has yet to officially make up his mind.

I will make my final decision on the Paris Accord next week!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 27, 2017

Pulling out of the Paris climate deal would unravel Obama-era climate change policies, and possibly the agreement itself. Dropping the agreement would also send a message to the world that climate change is not a pressing issue for the new administration.

White House economic adviser Gary Cohn said earlier that if Trump is faced with a choice between growing the economy and fighting global warming, Trump will choose the economy.

“If it comes to a choice between measures to curtail global warming under the 2015 Paris climate accord and growing the U.S. economy, economic considerations would prevail,” Cohn told reporters on Air Force One Thursday.

Cohn, along with Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson favor the agreement, while Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt are against it. Pruitt was reportedly among those in which Trump confided that he intends to withdraw from the Paris Agreement.

Trump’s unwillingness to pledge support for the climate deal upset certain European partners, specifically Germany’s Chanellor Angela Merkel. “The entire discussion about climate was very difficult, if not to say very dissatisfying,” she told reporters, “There are no indications whether the United States will stay in the Paris Agreement or not.”

“His basis for decision ultimately is going to be what’s best for the United States,” Cohn said Saturday.

The next Presidential election will be full of liberal attempts to suppress votes.

Without Ol’ Deep pockets Uncle Sam, the whole deal is useless. I mean, who is expecting the other countries to finance this dog and pony show.

Goldman Sachs has to get their chops in too, you know.

There is a growing suspicion that G-S does not have the best interests of the economy of the United States as one of its objectives.

But the whole scam is a great way to concentrate capital at the “right” venues.

Crony capitalism is alive and well on the island of Manhattan.

We’re getting to “crunch time” here. Have you sent a follow-up message to Trump?

Dear Mr. President,
As expected, you are under incredible pressure to keep us in the Paris Climate international wealth redistribution SCAM. That you have thus far resisted that pressure is a testament to your courage and willpower.
All those of us who supported you — and STILL DO — need to know about how disastrous is the Paris deal is that virtually ALL the European and other officials you met on your trip URGED YOU TO REMAIN IN THE THING.
The judgement of those who leaned on you to do so — Trudeau, May, Merkel and others — MUST be taken into account: They are the same folks (freeloaders?) who resent that you asked them to pick up THEIR share of NATO costs and who invite murderous muslims into their nations, guaranteeing the destruction of their cultures and more atrocities like Manchester.
You are MUCH smarter than they are. You also possess a quality they — and the previous occupant of your office — appear to lack: YOU LOVE YOUR COUNTRY!
That you do REQUIRES that you take us OUT of the bogus Paris deal.
Regards and welcome back to “The Swamp”.
Dick Bachert

Re: Trump Privately Says He's Out Of The Paris Climate Deal

Bunk!

I think Trump is deliberately leaking these bogus claims because he needs to soothe politically outraged Conservatives.

I think Trump ALWAYS planned to STAY in the Paris Agreement, even when he was campaigning against it in 2016.

Trump nominated a pro-Paris Agreement Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson.

Trump nominated a pro-Paris Agreement Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry.

Trump appointed a pro-Paris Agreement, West Wing-based, top level, Assistant to the President, Jared Kushner.

Trump appointed Chief of Staff, Reince Priebus, who is "neutral" on the Paris Agreement.

We were never in this thing to begin with because the Senate never ratified it and Congress did not enact any enabling legislation. Obama pretended to be in it by executive order.

Zo, Kanzler Merkel, there is nothing for us to "pull out" of.

Yup. It's a ruse to steal US dollars to support the majority of the 195 nations which are third world shit holes.

Trump should abandon NATO, and shut down the UN building. Remain a me,her for veto power only. Let those assholes find a building in Brusselles.

It appears Jared has changed his tune. Instead of urging Trump to sign the Paris nonsense, but that the “standards in the agreement need to be changed” although not elaborated. Jared may see the writing on the wall that Trump has not and will not be swayed.

The socialist having failed 20 years ago with the Kyoto Protocol, this one looks watered down by not holding nations to mandated limitations, but to what nations would initially pledge to the Paris Accord. It’s the hook before the later switch or ‘framework’ before they up the ante.

The socialists are attempting another bite at the money apple. Trump isn’t going to play games with them like China who is only playing lip service for now until it becomes a detriment.
