A six-storey rubber duck won't call Toronto waterfront home until this summer but it's already making waves in the Ontario legislature.
The 13,600-kilogram rubber duckie drew criticism, and many puns, from the Progressive Conservative tourism critic as he questioned why the province would help pay to bring the Instagrammable bath toy to Canada for a visit.
"People are already treading water, trying to pay their bills, and you float this rubber ducky right in their faces?" Rick Nicholls said.

It took a lot of Maple Syrup to pay for that.

You would figure something like that would be inflated and wouldnt need to be towed vie tug boat, to all its venues. Is it solid foam rubber?
My dog would kill itself chewing that thing into bite size pieces. And if it squeaks you better stand back!

I doubt that it costs remotely close to $121K to rent the Big Rubber Duck. That may be the amount that was paid into the festival’s expenses, but it must go for lots more than just the rubber duckie....
