Pennsylvania Republican Pushing Ban on Private Gun Sales
Breitbart News ^ | 28 May 2017 | AWR Hawkins

Posted on 05/29/2017 7:32:51 AM PDT by george76

Pennsylvania State Rep. Jamie Santora (R-163) is pushing a ban on private gun sales nearly identical to the ones Michael Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action pushed in Washington state, Maine, and Nevada.

Santora’s bill would bar the private sales that Americans have enjoyed since the Second Amendment was ratified in 1791 and would require that every sale be processed in front of an agent of the government via a background check.

This means that law-abiding Pennsylvanians selling a gun to a fellow hunter, lifelong co-worker, or childhood friend would have to seek out a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder and the would-be buyer would have to pass a background check just as the Orlando Pulse attacker (June 12, 2016), the Aurora movie theater attacker (July 20, 2012), Gabby Giffords’ attacker (January 8, 2011), the Fort Hood attacker (November 5, 2009), and the Virginia Tech attacker (April 16, 2007) did.

Could he be one of the undercover democrats who ran as a ‘conservative? I’ll bet the dems run one of their ‘American Vet, anti-choice, pro-gun rights place marker’ types against him.

The new dem scam is to run Republican types against Republicans to take back control of the House so Schumer’s in charge. The ‘good guy types’ they run will be powerless...

"...bloomberg bills didn’t pass in Washington state, Maine, and Nevada did they?..."

I don't know 'bout Maine and Nevada, but they did in Washington, and successfully "bait and switched" a bill that was sold as being about "gun sales" actually being one about "gun transfers"...so any time a firearm changes hands, it is supposed to be "background checked". I must say that the pro-gun organizations did a piss-poor job of getting out the info as to what the bill REALLY was. I try to keep informed on gun issues, and "I" didn't hear about the "transfer" clause. But very soon now, it will not be my problem, as I plan to move back down South, and specifically to Texas to be once again among sane people.

He should just move to California where we’ve had this for years. We also have registration of hand guns and long guns (though they don’t call it registration). That ought to get him fired up.

Jamie, I believe, is a sheilah. The organization Jamie is flacking for is definitely a bunch of meddling broads with too much free time. I once was of the mind to vote for the occasional female if they appeared qualified. NO MORE. They usually turn left.

Private sales in Colorado are supposed to go thru a background check. My guess is that the law is violated a lot.

“Private sales in Colorado are supposed to go thru a background check. My guess is that the law is violated a lot.”

What is needed here is wholesale violation of all anti-Second Amendment laws. We need to break their system.

Roger that. The bill passed only because of las vegas libs. NO other county passed it but LV had enough votes to push it over the edge. Problem was/is that the bill/initiative calls for BGC to be done by one agency but current law uses another agency. Can’t amend the initiative for 2 years so...............too bad nannie bloomers. I have no doubt they’ll be back. The NV dems have tried to get the AG to work on changing it or somehow fixing it.............nah.

I watched the Movie Sergeant York a few days ago on TCM.

When York was leaving Home to head to Basic Training, he gave his Rifle to his Younger Brother.

Imagine him and his Brother having to go down to the local FFL and get a Background Check.

Funny thing about Laws, only the Law Abiding follow them.

One other thing. York’s younger Brother was only 16. In today’s world, he wouldn’t even be able to own a Firearm.

I “owned” a Rifle and a Shotgun when I was eight years old, but that was when my Brother took his .22 to School since he was in the Shooting Club and you could buy a War Surplus Anti Tank Cannon from an Ad in the back of a Magazine.

Pennsylvania State Rep. Jamie Santora's district is just southwest of Philadelphia
so he already has a New Jersey "state of mind" about firearms.
Do we have FReepers from that area ?
He needs to be primaried !

We had 2 initiatives pass here in Washington state in 2014 which, in effect, only allow private gun sales through licensed FFL’s with the usual background check, etc. except immediate family members.
