Many senior and long-time staffers of the House Oversight Committee plan a walkout when Congressman Trey Gowdy takes the gavel over from Jason Chaffetz. Gowdy, who led the two-year House Benghazi probe, has secured near-unanimous support among members of the House Republican Steering Committee as well as Speaker Paul Ryan. Additionally, Jason Chaffetz has not been seen at work “for three months” and generally only appears when cameras are rolling.

Plenty of people would love a government job.
Change the locks and fire anyone who doesn’t show up for work. Send police to collect any government property they may have in their possession.
This level of unprofessionalism discredits their prior work.

Chaffetz has proved to be an utter charlatan and useless turd. Why do so many Republicans prove to be worthless and worse than worthless?
Abandoning his post in the middle of the fight, after accomplishing nothing, and just months after seeking and winning re-election to a 2-year term.
Jason, you can’t manage to complete a simple two-year commitment that you entered into just months ago????? You have betrayed the voters!

It’s probable that the intelligence agencies have a lot of dirt on a lot of congresscritters; which is why
investigations go nowhere, and no one is ever prosecuted.

But why does it seem like Gowdy is as much a part of the swamp as Chaffetz?
Gowdy puts on a good show but doesn’t get any results either.
They keep investigating, but nothing ever seems to happen.
One day we will all know why Jason C. has made these recent decisions. Those who know are not yet talking.
I can see John Boehner blurting it out while being interviewed by a rabid Lib., just to make himself look more important.
Who knew the swamps had swamps of their own. This is more of a deep state kind of corruption.
How can the US government ever operate with any kind of credibility when most the people working in it are corrupt dems? Answer: It can't. There are no un-corrupted dems.
I'm not sure a swamp of this magnitude can be fixed without a complete and total change. Maybe once the government Unions are abolished a sort of quota program can be established through out the gov requiring an equal number of republicans, dems, and certain percentage of Independents. It isn't working the way it is and now we know why; it's mostly dems.
Exactly. Gowdy is a showman; not someone who gets things done if going by his history.
He is good at kabuki theater. All talk no action.
