Stunning news. I knew he had some recent health issues, but this was completely unexpected.
For all his flaws, that man -- along with the entire Allman Brother Band -- was a legend.

One of the greatest Blues songwriters ever.

Ahh...damn. He lived an interesting life, was brother to a rock legend and a member of one of the best rock bands every. He was even able to get past the ignominy of having married Cher. RIP - I’ll put “Live at Fillmore East” on the turntable tonight to remember him.

What a shame. I can’t believe it.

Just one more morning
I had to wake up with the blues
Pulled myself out of bed
And put on my walking shoes
Went up on the mountain
To see what I could see
Whole world was falling
Right down in front of me

I stared at that with fascination as a kid. All kinds of little details to take in.

I really liked some of his stuff; that album with “Sweet Feeling” and “Brightest Smile In Town” was pretty good.

One of my favorites.
RIP.

Always loved “Midnight Rider.” Once tried to do it in karaoke, but my voice didn’t fit the song; Greg’s did - gritty and poignant.

Exactly! That had to be one of the best inner album artworks. I look at that cover and I can hear “No Way Out” playing on my Pioneer stereo.

That it will. And at least I’ve got Tedeschi-Trucks Band tickets for July. And will probably go see Warren Haynes playing with Government Mule in October.
