When Melania Trump recited The Lord's Prayer before a Melbourne, Florida presidential rally in February, the Internet went hog wild.
Now we know one reason why the first lady began with 'Let us pray' and 'Our Father who art in heaven' when she introduced the president that evening: She's a practicing Roman Catholic.
Her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham confirmed that to DailyMail.com on Wednesday, hours after Pope Francis blessed a rosary for her at the Vatican.
The last Catholics to live in the White House were John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie. Melania and her son Barron will move to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue over the summer.
Mrs. Trump did more than just show up for a Papal audience.
She spent time in prayer at the Vatican-affiliated Bambino Gesù (Baby Jesus) Hospital, and laid flowers at the feet of a statue of the Madonna.

“”Why would this have been a secret till now?””
I don’t think it’s been a secret. People just aren’t that familiar with the European countries which are predominately Catholic - IF they aren’t Muslim, that is. A lot of African countries are also Catholic which people don’t realize.
I noticed that....I agree - either way, it was great to hear her!!
“”The Catholics I know stop at deliver us from evil,”” Melania added the final doxology For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever. Amen...which is the version Protestants use.
Either way, as I said, I was THRILLED to hear it.””
Love that joke - had to clip it because I can never remember all the denominations well enough to tell it. :-)
Power of the Divine Feminine. To me, it explains why she always seems so calm.
I sincerely doubt he would have made his older children bastards by obtaining the necessary annulments. So, at best she is a cultural Catholic; it doesn't matter to me as long as she is a Christian and a believer by faith in salvation by grace.
Her mother was not a registered communist, according to DailyMail.
Ok, thanks for the information. Like I said, I suspected early on she may have been Catholic culturally at some level. SO her Father was a Communist party leader, but not her Mother. Good to know
Works for me.
Of course! Beautiful inside and out!
Don’t laugh. Many great saints come from humble beginnings.
If the Catholic Church is not man-made then why was Jesus a Jew? No such thing as the Catholic Church or Christianity at the time of Jesus. The Catholic Church was created after the death of Jesus and was not created by Jesus whatsoever. Therefore it was man-made.
Just because it is Holy doesn’t mean that it can’t be made by man. The New Testament are the words written by man and inspired by God. Neither the Old or New Testament are God’s own words. They are the recollection of man as he wrote them inspired by God. There is a difference. The Bible, man decided what goes into the Bible not God. Although people will say it was the will of God. The problem is there are many texts left out written by the disciples. Man decided to place what goes into the bible as much as how the Catholic Church was made. Know your history and you will be enlightened which starts with the Roman Empire. Not something someone tells you based off of some made up version of the truth.
Hah! And Mrs. Gingrich carefully and prayerfully selecting drapes for her apartment in Vatican City!
I hope she puts a private chapel in the White House...and has Daily Mass said there! Can’t you just see Chuckie Schumers head spinning...and spitting out pea soup?
You provide a link to some dude named Matt who has a blog site as a legitimate explanation?? Is this your site?
You yourself believe as you do because other men's "made up version of the truth" and with their logic you threaten to "tear down the walls of" the Catholic Church.
Truly you have a dizzying intellect.
Faith is delicate and precious a gift maybe you could just let others find God in their own way.
You’re willing to trust the uninspired contradictory opinions of men rather than inspired non contradictory Scripture?
No it’s not my blog. You seem to be poised for an argument.
I give up. You win.
I am done with you. Have a nice argument with yourself.
Dude...you post a link to some random blog site that has no credentials and you want me to take you seriously? Please.
The legitimacy of a child is strictly a secular, government issue. It has nothing absolutely zero to do with a marriage annulment by the Catholic Church.
