I’ve been trying to settle in my mind how, if he never lived, visited or had a business here, how the US could confiscate his assets. Or for that matter, how he could be held criminally or civilly liable for anything here.

Good reply and those are the types of things I’m contemplating. OBL never lived or visited here, but he committed crimes (and heinous ones at that) against us and our people here and overseas.

The person I was speaking of has been accused of crimes much less clear and without violence or blood.

Copyright crimes, when they’ve never been here or come under our jurisdiction. OBL was never within our jurisdiction either, but he killed our people.
