I think Rap Music did far greater damage to professionalism in defining what was expected and acceptable in popular music. At least two generations have been raised on such base mediocrities. That is not to paint all with the same brush. There still are many truly talented young performers, in all forms of popular music. The British girl Adele is just one of them. She has her own style, one worth listening to if you like blues ballads.

Disagree about Adele. Interesting voice but that’s all. She has this one note that resonates in a wierd way no matter what song she’s singing, almost like she lands on it and the effort goes out of her. Like “bwuhhhhh”, it’s hard to describe but very annoying. And that one song that was popular for a while, there was no way to sing along with it. Hello, I think. And that song about making you feel her love, sounds like something you would hear from a psycho chick.
