Excellent analysis and a great question at the end:

Better bet its highest viewage is with Sunni Muslims. This motivates/incentivizes to get involved many who were previously seeking to not get involved. More Sunnis in mosques will turn informants for the anti-terrorist coalition.

Agents in mosques will not be FBI/NSC/NSA/CIA/xyz They will be Saudi, Egyptian, Moroccan, Tunisian, etc.

Yet to be seen is whether they turn their information over to the USA swamp or just take action with no US Government involvement?

In Sept-Dec 2001 my daughter attended IT classes at DeVry. Many classmates were Muslim/Arabic/Pakistanni. For a couple weeks after 911 those Muslim classmates expressed a mixture of embarrassment at being Muslim and anger at the terrorists.

Then suddenly the first week of October 2001 all the Muslim students disappeared from her classes. Nobody knew why.
Since my daughter comes from a community of Hispanic illegal immigrants she was attuned to the jokes about immigration getting them. But in December, one of the Muslim students returned to pick up all the personal affects left in the lockers by the Muslims.

It turned out that some secret government agency made an offer to all those IT students to become translators. So in December the guy who returned was extremely high on how they were going to show the world that most Muslims were not terrorists. Those translators had one of the highest death rates in Iraq. The blood they she for freedom should not be forgotten.
