At one point, every single Cuban “asset” was actually a double agent reporting to Castro. There were more than 50 of them. The CIA is no different than any other government bureaucracy.

I heard an old timer say that the CIA’s downfall began when they moved into that giant palace in McLean. When they were squirreled away in anonymous little offices all over DC the decentralization led to more independent thought and better morale. They were also grownups back then.

So, they killed a bunch of brave people through incompetence. Who cares? The important thing is that now we have transgender CIA officers!

Of all things, I remember the movie Spy Game, where it is the old vs new. Bureaucracy and such in a changing world, etc.

“When they were squirreled away in anonymous little offices all over DC the decentralization led to more independent thought and better morale”

Sounds logical. “Universal Exports” and all that.
