Good post. Easter, however, did not start as a pagan practice. It is Pascha (=Passover) -— most languages reflect this: Pascua, Pesach, etc.-—and the roots are Jewish, not gentile.

Israelites celebrated Passover for many centuries before there were Pharisees and Jews.
The first Passover was celebrated by Abel.
