Who do you suggest that does not have some kind of relationship with Comey and/or Trump who has the experience to handle this job well?
If Trump is convicted by an Impeachment, then Pence takes over so long as he doesn’t get entangled in this mess. If for some reason both Trump and Pence were out, what would be the replacement procedure? Remember Agnew and Nixon?

Back in the W Administration, Mueller worked directly under Comey when Comey was Deputy AG and Mueller was FBI Director.
