Gingrich: Surrender or Fight
Fox News Opinion ^ | May 18th 2017 | Newt Gingrich

Posted on 05/19/2017 6:03:23 AM PDT by Shark24

Republicans, in particular the Trump administration, are approaching a historic decision that will shape America for generations to come.

The endless hostility of the Left, exemplified by violent fascists on college campuses, thugs in the streets, determined disrupters at town hall meetings, and the dishonest elite media are all part of their efforts to defeat the reforms and changes that President Trump was elected to implement.

BTW, I heard Little Marco on the radio yesterday tap dancing his way around the “Trump-Russia” nonsense. It was truly a pathetic display. I’ve never been more disgusted with the GOP. And that says it all.

Good words, agree totally. Like I said, think it’s time for that 10 million person march.

Agreed! I was hoping Trump would keep it from happening but the RINO’s in Congress are going to impede his plans at every turn. It will take CW2 to get rid of them.

I will fight. I just don’t know how. What can a I do as an average American to be an effective warrior in this cold civil war we are in?

All well and good about a march, but who will organize and lead it? Who has the resources to reach and motivate that many people? The Left, for all its putrid motives, is skilled at this kind of organizing. The Right, on the other hand, not only lacks such skills, but is too busy fighting amongst themselves to deal effectively with the mob coming for them.

You bring up great points that I considered bringing up in my post but decided to keep it simple. It’s certainly something that needs to be seriously considered. Need to get a modern version of the Liberty Tree going.

I wish Newt was Trump’s main advisor. He gets it and he’s a fighter.

Concur...He should be Chief of Staff. Newt has experience and credibility..why Trump doesn’t turn to him, I’ll never understand.

I like Newt and deeply respect his intellect, insight and sense of history, but looking at this struggle in partisan terms is a fatal mistake. Republicans took control of the House in 2010 and what did Boehner or Ryan do to thwart any of Obama’s policies from 2010 to January 2017? Answer, virtually nothing. After Ryan became speaker, one of his very first acts was to hand Obama a blank check for everything on his agenda. The same can be said of the Senate since republicans took control in 2014.

The Republican Party, as it is currently configured and led, can’t be counted on for anything other than to capitulate to, or attempt to mollify, Democrats, who continue to lose seats at every level throughout the country. Name one Republican “leader” that you honestly believe represents the majority of your positions on anything. Hell, the RNC actively campaigns against people who, like us, know the country is going/has gone to hell, our constitutional rights are diminishing on an almost daily basis, our government is too damned big and oppressive and exists only for the perpetuation and growth of government.

Republicans could hold an airtight, two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress and still WOULDN’T implement and fund the policies that we voted for. If I may paraphrase, “If the Republican party’s the answer, it’s a pretty stupid question.”

Prayer!

Because of the “once for all” sacrifice of Jesus Christ:

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Heb. 4:16

The aged villains of the Swamp are a kind of proof that God is not “trigger happy” but actually slow to anger. Their provocations have increased so I do pray that God hinders them, frustrates them, exposes them...and SAVES some to boot!

You nailed it. Sundance over at Conservative Treehouse lays out your argument very well almost everyday when commenting on the Republican’s lack of action and support for Trump/us.

Was Newt surrendering or fighting when he sat with Nancy Pelosi on that couch about climate change?

They will run for the hills. I have yet to see anything the Republican congress will fight for. Oh McConnell may himself stop a Supreme Court nominee, but if it had been up to the rest of the Republican eunuchs in the Senate Merrick Garland would be sitting on the court now.

They Repu$$yicans will cut and run and if they allow this to go on they will lose their majorities and it won’t be because of the Democrats it will be because there is no reason whatsoever to vote for these putrid cowards, none.

I think Newt suggested where we can start to tear down the enemy. Why do we allow the enemydia to continue to operate? Surely they are not all protected by secret service. Can’t we find addresses for the worst offenders? Maybe a little harassment would cause them to choose their words more wisely. They cause us to live in fear. Maybe we need to put a little of that fear in their minds. The fourth estate is not part of our government.

Thinking of 60,000,000 Trump voters. Seems to me that would be a good start on a replacement for the Republican Party. In fact it could be called the “Trump Party”. We could build on that and turn the GOP out to pasture. Heck, we don’t have a party left to vote for anyway. Might as well build one.
