Conservatives have to know when there are open minded liberals around so we do not lump them in with the evil leftists. I have a lib friend who seems to be one of the few who are still open minded. He calls me up and starts in about what a liar trump is. So, I had finally had it. I’m usually the conservative who keeps his mouth shut to keep the peace. If I didn’t do that here in Sacramento CA I would probably be at war with everyone in my left leaning neighborhood. No more.
I contained my intitial response of completely going off on him. I killed him with questions. Why do you hate trump?. Well he’s a liar. Why is he a liar? What has he lied about? EXPLAIN YOUR POSITION TO ME. My buddy couldn’t do it. I had disarmed him completely. Now if my buddy was a leftist the conversation would have descended into a shouting match. He would have dig his feet in. With him I could hear the wheels turning. I explained why I’m a conservative. Why I support trump 100%. He let me talk and HE LISTENED!
My point with all this is there are liberals out there who can be turned. We as conservatives have to be able to discern those few and put in the work to bring them over to our side. Leftists on the other hand are lost causes. Like I heard Ben Shapiro say, when a leftist calls you a racist, how are you suppose to have a thought a conversation with that? You cant. You call that person an asshole and bear down for a fight.

And with W not ever once advancing any principle of conservatism in 8 years, there about 40 million voters who think it’s some exotic new strain of disease. Then when the MSM and political jerks go on about ‘missing’ W, that cements in these liberal’s minds what a conservative is supposed to sound and look like.
The don’t realize it, and would never ever in a billion years admit it ... but spending decades sanctimoniously calling people racist, sexist etc cost them the election. People just wanted to get back at them for onece ... and for many Trump was a way to get back at them.
This is not happening just here. People everywhere are sick of being falsely accused by the sanctimonious left.
Yep, he pretty much summed up my view of liberals. They’re wrong about nearly everything and their wrongness causes suffering. But that’s not what makes them unbearable. After all, being wrong — even stubbornly wrong — is just part of the human condition. What makes them unbearable is their arrogance, and their attitude of moral condemnation, and their utter contempt for those who disagree with them. They assume the worst about good people and that is galling.

There is a very big difference between liberals and leftists. When I was in school in the 1970s, I often heard liberal teachers say words to the effect that “While I strongly disagree with what you say, I will defend to the death your right to say it.” In other words, they were open minded enough to tolerate and even encourage an opposing Viewpoint. They wanted to argue with you, because they legitimately believed that they were correct, and they wanted to convince you. They were civilized. The left, on the other hand, is not. The left cares not one bit about the process of determining what is best for society; they have already determined that only their policies (based on the emotion of the day, of course) are correct, and that anyone opposed to those policy prescriptions (and the precise thinking behind them) is therefore evil. [Note that this is an interesting concept for a group of people to hold, who have proudly expressed their opinion that there is no such thing as God. If that is the case, how can there be evil?]. To the left, the only thing that matters is achieving their goals. Anything that, in their view, brings them closer to achieving their goals is necessarily good. Anything and anyone who slows them down in any way at all, is necessarily evil. Given that there is no middle ground, no gray in between the black and white that exists in their minds, anything is therefor permissible. Thrown out the door with this mindset is any idea of civility or tolerance. This is exactly the mindset that gave rise to monsters like Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot and the Kim family of North Korea. The left in America today would, if they could, throw everyone who oppose them into the American version of a gulag; that is, if they wouldn’t actually just engage in mass executions of a like that have not been seen since Stalin’s purges and the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
Getting back to the quote at the beginning of this post, I must disagree. I do hate the people that hold these views. As I mentioned, they are not liberals. Actual liberals I can tolerate, and even feel sorry for (because they are generally fools who have no regard for history or actual facts, they emote instead of thinking). But leftists I have no toleration for. I do hate them. The reason for this is very simple: my family was terribly victimized by people just like them roughly 100 years ago in Russia. My great-grandfather worked his fingers to the bone to build up a water carrier business that his father had left to him. He ended up employing about 50 people, and used a lot of the surplus funds from that business to build about 15 homes that he rented out. In other words, he was a hard-working businessman, of the kind that has made this country great. He was quite successful. Then came the Communists. It is not merely that they took everything that he had ever worked for in his life, except house in which he lived - that, by itself, would have been enough to stoke my anger. No, there was more, lots more. There was the fact that my grandfather was pretty much forced to leave the country that he had been born and raised in, and leave his family forever, just to survive (which is a long story by itself, which I will not repeat here because it is somewhat distracting from my main point). There was the fact that the Russian Communists were, of course, totalitarians...so they would not tolerate even the idea that someone might think them wrong. So, my great-grandfather had to undergo interrogations over the years despite the fact that he was an older man who was clearly never going to lead any kind of a revolt, plus the ever-present fear that he could be dragged away and never seen again. Which, by the way, is just about what ended up happening to him. He died in his mid-seventies in 1937 shortly after having been badly beaten by the NKVD, the direct predecessor of the KGB. Add to that the general misery of living in the Soviet Union for the entire duration of the rule of Communism in that country, complete with substandard food and health care, and the complete lack of opportunity for a better life. As for what I myself witnessed, I saw the incredible pain that this entire set of circumstances caused in my grandfather. He never saw his parents again after he left, and was only able to visit those of his siblings who were still alive some 46 years later, in a three-week trip that was closely supervised by the KGB. Given what he had gone through during the course of his life, I can say without a doubt that he was one of the toughest men that I have ever known...yet he cried like a baby when he would talk about what had happened to his family.
I can never forgive those Communist bastards for what they did to my grandfather and his family. I also have enough of a sense of history, and enough knowledge about human psychology, to know in my bones that the American version of such a “Utopia” would be at least as bad (and, probably, worse due to the highly advanced surveillance and computing capacity available to those in power). When I see and hear these leftists spouting their vile nonsense, and displaying their utter intolerance for any person or viewpoint that slows down their unquenchable thirst for power, I can only see and hear the thoughts and actions of Russian Communists. It is for that reason that I loathe these people with every fiber of my existence. It is because I know what the endgame is, that I feel this way. There can be no middle ground with these people: either we return to the America of 40 or more years ago, in which people might disagree, but do so in a civil manner and respect the fact that there are certain lines of behavior that are never to be crossed, or we have Stalinism in America. I have a great advantage over my great-grandfather in that I live in a nation in which there are more than 400 million firearms in the hands of civilians, and I know that a great majority of those are owned by people who are not leftists, and who have an intense devotion to the ideals that made this country the Envy of the world and the best place on Earth to live. The only thing that the leftists have going for them is potential control over our government, and everyone knows it. That is why they are so full of rage, because they were very, very close to solidifying their power. They could taste it, every media outlet was telling them that they were on the precipice of total victory. Had Hillary Clinton won, it would have only been a matter of time until firearms were declared illegal, backed up by a packed Supreme Court. After that, without needing to know particular details, we would have ultimately become a totalitarian society, complete with surveillance of everything we did and viewed, mass executions and gulags.
Yes, I hate these leftists. I do not believe that any of them are truly ignorant of where they wish to go. To them, ruling over all of society is their goal, and they do not care how they get there or how many people get hurt in the process. That is evil, and I truly believe that these people cannot be turned away from it. They have been too well indoctrinated.

In short, Democrats haven’t changed since the days of Andrew Jackson. Jackson bitterly hated the wealthy, and those who were better off than people like Mark Twain’s “Pap Finn”, who hated any man who had ever had $50 in his pocket, since Pap Finn had never had that much, and didn’t just want to have that money taken away from that man, but have him *hurt* for his arrogance of “thinkin’ he was better ‘n me.”
Democrats got even worse by the time of the Civil War. There were writers like George Fitzhugh, a slavery apologist, who said that slavery was such a good thing, that most people should be made slaves. With only a few, like his dear readers, “elite” enough to be masters.
Oddly enough, Fitzhugh’s books have been in publication since, appealing either to socialists, or those appalled by socialism, or both.
Even in recent years, if you went just south of the Mason-Dixon line, you might find Democrats still embroiled in their hatred of “Yankees”. Such people raised their children to hate as well, that it was their obligation to hate northerners and Republicans.
Was their objection to the loss of slavery? Not so much as losing the perpetual black underclass they could look down on and despise, as somebody “worse off than we are”, so deserving only hate and contempt.
The Democrat party in a nutshell.
But the extrapolation to Democrats today is obvious. They are truly miserable creatures. And as they caused the Civil War by dividing the nation, so they would love to do so today.
But that is not enough. They realize that on their own they are worthless, so they demand that conservatives act as their slaves, to create the prosperity they can parasite from, abuse, and decry.
Should California secede? Only on the condition that liberals are required to live there, in their own filth, and that conservatives be permitted to leave. Then we can erect two seventy-five foot walls between us, with a minefield in between. Then, after 100 years, conservatives be allowed to repopulate the lifeless wasteland that the liberals have left behind.
The threat of homegrown terrorism has shifted from jihadis to leftists. I can see the threats and chatter on liberal boards.
I support Calexit. Help them leave, and take all their migrants with them.

I’m sure research of news coverage prior to 2008 would show that the headlines on ANY SUBJECT weren’t nearly as toxic as they became once that cretin came on the scene...No one can say he was a failure as president as he did precisely what he was put there to do. How many articles would we see about cops being killed because they were doing their jobs? Just pick any horrible headline assaulting us each day...And we always say, “I thought I’d heard it all” when the exact opposite is true - there is plenty more to come..

Why not hate those that want to shut you up, use violence to get their way, lie constantly, insist on their way or the highway, believe that they have a right to take what you own and to compel you to behave as they wish?

I see it differently, I guess. As I see it, both the right and the left see the other as evil (I know I think the leftist, socialist, communist, etc. are seeking to allow evil to triumph). Both see this as a war between good and evil. The difference is that most of the activists on the right are religious. As such that limits what they can do to their opponents - as a Christian, I am commanded to love my enemy (doesn't make him not my enemy). The left has no such commandment. They are out to win at any cost - lie, cheat, riot, whatever it takes to make sure the world is "saved" (by their definition). If they have to do bad things, there will be plenty of time to feel bad about doing that after we are eradicated.
How do we fight that? By being persistent and not going away.
