Nah, “drunking” is far more effective.
You have someone they don;t know buddy buddy up with the slime and act like their friend, you get them drunk at bar and tell them you will drive them home and that you need their keys.
then you drive them out to the country as you “have to run an errand on their way to their house” and you carefully and slowly drive the car off the road into a ditch (carefully where it doesn’t roll over, but nice and stuck in the ditch ) maybe distract them while you are doing it, “OMG I almost hit a deer did you see that?”
after you are in a ditch, get out of the car ask them for their phone and tell them to call for help while you walk to the nearest gas station.
The guy following you picks you up 1/4 mile down the road and you drive away...
When the police get there, the slime has some “’splaining to do”
” No officer... I had a designated driver.... “
“Sure sure, sure you did, where are they? “
“They walked to the gas station in the direction you just came from...”
“I didn’t meet anyone on my way here sir/ma’am “
