Since May 5 is a Mexican holiday and not a US Holiday, I would say that I could throw a party and dress any way I want since I’m in the USA and not Mexico. If you want to celebrate Cinco De Mayo, go to Mexico.
Their party was on May 6. I don’t know of any holiday on May 6 and certainly not one involving construction hats. The university is knee jerking bigly.
It's not celebrated in Mexico, from all I hear. It's an American thing.
In 1912, the president of Mexico visited the Prime Minister of England...While there, he ate a meal and had something he dearly loved...
he decided his people needed this and had 10,000 cases shipped to America and then sent on to Mexico...
On the way, the ship containing the cases hit an iceburg and sank...It was the Titanic....
he hated it happened so much, he declared a national holiday...
Sinko de Mayo mayonaise)
I don’t like mayo so I celebrate Cinco De Miracle Whip.
May 5 is a day in Mexico not a holiday.
I’ve been in Mexico several times on the 5th and it is never celebrated .
It’s an American invention, like St Patrick’s Day. It isn’t celebrated in Ireland and they do not eat corned beef, with cabbage and red potatoes
