I was about to dip a nugget in some Chick-fil-A Sauce the other day when I received an urgent message on my phone.
Student Groups Shut Down Chick-fil-A Proposal, one headline blared. Catholic University Caves to LGBT Pressure, Rejects Chick-fil-A, screamed another.
A cavalcade of anti-chicken headlines blurted from my phone but the most succinct came from Food and Wine magazine: Fordham University Rejects Chick-fil-A after LGBT Student Concerns.
However incredulous it may have been, the Jesuits had indeed banished the Chick-fil-A cows.
As I pondered that reality, I nearly choked on a delicious, hand-spun Chick-fil-A Icedream milkshake topped off with whipped cream and one crucial cherry.
Fordhams Rainbow Alliance took great offense over plans to install a Chick-fil-A in the campus dining hall. The LGBT group had a laundry list of complaints, but they still have their feathers ruffled over an incident that occurred back in 2012.
That was the year Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told a Baptist newspaper that he believed in the biblical definition of marriage.
Mr. Cathys comments sparked The Great Poultry War of 2012.
Fierce critics accused the family-owned restaurant chain of all sorts of heinous behavior. One elected lawmaker accused the Cathy family of peddling hate chicken.
In spite of the vicious attacks by the mainstream media and the militant LGBT chicken-haters, the restaurant chain continued to provide delicious food served with cheerful attitudes.
As a matter of fact, Chick-fil-A graciously offered to collaborate with Fordhams Rainbow Alliance an invitation that was rejected.
Were not going to partner with an institution, a corporation that has so strongly supported other institutions that work to destabilize and demolish movements for queer equity, Rainbow Alliance co-president Renata Francesco told the Fordham Observer.
Such childish insolence has become the norm on university campuses these days.
The Fordham Observer reports that other student groups, including the United Student Government and the Residence Hall Association, also objected to the campus Chick-fil-A.
The Rainbow Alliance said they were very happy with the decision.
Part of me is hopeful that theyll start taking this attitude of listening to queer student and queer voices, because there are so many on this campus and just in life, Francesco told the newspaper.
It seems LGBT students are still perturbed because the Catholic school is not kowtowing to queer issues most notably the hesitation and denial to create trans-inclusive spaces.
Im not exactly sure what a trans-inclusive space means but whatever.
So, there you have it, folks. Chick-fil-A has been banished from campus, the LGBT students won the day, and the anti-poultry bigots at Fordham University have been spared the indignity of suffering through the throes of a raging microaggression at the mere presence of a waffle fry.

Fordham’s still considered Catholic? LOL! Who knew!
Gives new meaning to the moniker "Fordham Rams" ;)
Also, thanks for helping me decide where to go for lunch today.
Isn’t that the truth—this is a Catholic saying that.. My Church is being destroyed from within, from the top down...
Came here to say this...
If the rainbow alliance co-president says they’re “queers” I’ll take it at it’s word and do the same. Didn’t used to say nigger either - until President Stompy Foot said it on national television.
It’s Fordham’s loss. Chik fil-a will continue their double digit growth regardless.
Poultryphobic faggots.
But not unexpected. The Jesuits have been commie leaning SJWs since... long, long ago.
Look at the problems they gave Pope JP II and mess they caused in South America and remember Poland?
The Jesuits, a book by Malachi Martin, has quite a good background on the Jesuits.
I got the jump on all y’all, I had breakfast from there. Chicken and egg biscuit, no cheese. And I don’t care which goes on the biscuit first, the chicken or the . . .
Hilarious!
Even before we had a Fake Pope — I no longer can accept Pope Francis as the Pope; I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I think it means something that Benedict chose to keep the title “Pope” — Catholic colleges fell under the jurisdiction of the local bishop, not the Vatican. In any case, most Catholic colleges went off the rails forty years ago. If we had a Vatican that cared about these things, such a Pope would be wise to decree that only colleges that met certain strict criteria would be considered “Catholic”. Any others could call themselves anything they like, but would get no official stamp of approval. It's juts not worth the time for bishops or the Vatican to police these schools, where the shenanigans never stop. I mean, once the (male) head of the Theology Department at Fordham “married” a man, was there really anything left to say about whether the school is Catholic?
False headline. Fordham is a private, independent research university, not governed by the Archdiocese of New York or the Society of Jesus for almost 50 years. Though they still have some Jesuit, um, residue, they have been governed by an independent lay board since 1969.

So, bottom line, Fordham University is NOT a Catholic school?
I would also guess neither are Georgetown and Notre Dame?
Tuition at Fordam is $50,00o per year.
Why would anyone send their children there?
“I guess the Queer alliance types would rather have something else shoved in their mouths.”
I knew there would be a tube-steak reference in here somewhere!
I’m sure this would have pained BCM, who was a graduate of Fordham Law.
