Skirmishes involving irate passengers broke out at a Florida airport following the cancellation of multiple Spirit Airlines flights.
Broward Sheriff's officials tell ABC News that deputies were called to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Monday to deal with angry passengers. Videos posted online show deputies trying to break up fights and detaining some unruly passengers.

Spirit just sucks - they think nothing of cancelling flights while you’re at the gate - the reason is usually because they don’t have enough crews, which is absurd. They’re not even on my list of options any longer.
They need to start imposing a domestic air travel ban on these fools.
This was a pilots union issue.
Maybe the airlines need to stop treating their customers like they're nothing but a major annoyance?
That’s your excuse for creating a civil disturbance?
Quite the Democrat aren’t you?
Well, they can just drag some passengers off of another flight, and fly the crews in to where they are needed.
Trying to negotiate a contract for two years. Airline has never been more profitable but pays their pilots less than half of what airlines like Allegiant or Southwest do. I don't blame the pilots of being upset.
People who pay more to get better service don’t get treated like annoyances.
Nope. Frequent business flyer. I've been on the receiving end of this kind of crap service too many times.
Pilots who are smart will use Spirit to build up their time and then go somewhere else.
Which is why I generally splurge on first class when I fly for pleasure. But when on business I'm stuck in the cattle car, and the airlines treat their people that way.
They can quit and go work for Southwest.
Wow. I didn’t know the Amish flew. Better to take Greyhound.
Greyhound of the air
Did you watch the videos?
That's been my experience. I don't nickel & dime when it comes to goods and services. I would rather pay a little more to have a better experience.
Fine. They're upset -- I would be, too.
But putting your employer out of business isn't much of a solution.
Reason #17 Why I don’t fly anymore.
