Why not? He’s better and more decent of a human being in every single way compared to the Saudi leaders.

In Assads Syria you can openly be a Christian, any type of moslem, a kurd, and there is even a very small historic Jewish group in Damascus. Women can go on a date, drive a car, and don’t have to wear a tent. You can sample locally made beer or have a whiskey or a glass of wine.

I’ll trust Assad over our Sunni “allies” any day.
