“Great Society Policies” unfolding in rural & semi-rural Americ

I am a landlord in a rural area, with under $600 for 2 bed apt. It was bad in 2002-2007, but all the renters had jobs and not too many had food stamps. But when 2009 came around, it was so evident, everyone had unemployment, food stamps and if the guy had a girlfriend with a kid, more money for them.

Many able bodied men just refused to work. The crime and filth that piled up with tenants home all day with nothing to do, it was a nightmare.

We learned quickly to refuse to rent to anyone without a job, we want to see the parking lot in the middle of the day empty and hear silence.

Question, if the government begins to cut off these young able bodied men, do you think they would pick blueberries to survive?

No I do not!
Just like in the inner city the effect of the policy will be the production of violent criminals!

Unfortunately there likely is no “pretty solution” to put the cork back in the bottle.
