Universal health care becomes a real possibility in the Golden State

As I write this, the GOP-controlled Congress is taking a second stab at repealing Obamacare. The effort is likely to fail, because the party is so divided. However, if they succeed, 21 million newly covered Americans may lose their health coverage. As we all know by now, this means that patients with pre-existing conditions, Medicare recipients and young people could be screwed.

And that threat has lit a fire under California, which is racing to send Congress a message: Health care is a basic human right.

Enter Senate Bill 562, the Healthy California Act, which promises to create universal health care in the state and which easily passed its first major legislative hurdle last week.

I think it would make all this easier if CA reinstated the state mental hospital system.

Even the Leftist factcheck.org says only 10.4 million people bought insurance through the Obamacare exchanges. No doubt a good share of those could have gotten insurance anyway.

Obamacare was really just a huge push for Medicaid entitlements.

I don’t think they’ve figured that out yet.

Problem is you’ll be lucky to get a veterinarian as your doctor in California. Anyone with the means will have a doctor out of California or out of the country...much like the Canadian system.

Oh, believe us, we’re already bankrupt here in this no-talent-ass-clown run state. We’re just cooking the books the give the appearance that we’re somehow solvent. We’re way, way worse than anything Bernie Madoff could have pulled off.

This is actually probably an excellent outcome. It will accelerate California’s fiscal destruction and hopefully provide it as an example before the country in general goes down.

In other news: Bankruptcy becomes a real possibility in the Golden State.

Perhaps the bankruptcy judge can break up the State, and have the various parts taken over by Oregon, Nevada and Arizona. Maybe even part of it to Hawaii.

One restriction would have to be that former California residents would not be able to vote for the rest of their lives. Seems fair enough.

File that with "Trump will never get elected".

Raise the gas tax to $300 dollars a gallon and give free gasoline to illegal aliens.

"How will it be paid for?"

The entire country will "pay" for it via an activist federal judge's decision.

now wait just a minute. There’s a few million Republicans left here that have prevented the state from going completely bonkers. We get to keep our votes, ‘kay?
