Brilliant!! If you don't mind, I will be plagiarizing your comment every chance I get. I have always wondered how DiBlasio married and had children with a lesbian, too!
It is a choice. They aren’t born that way because there is no gay gene. Gays have to recruit.
The first photo on the Daily Mail page looks photoshopped.
1078 pages is just enough for my bathroom clean up for the next 500+ days. I would only let my back end peruse that garbage. Very surprised about him being gay though...and all that coke. Seems like such a stable person...SARC
The only thing I care to read about this person is the obit period.
Who cares? Not me.
Author David Garrow is a really shady character. He finds trendy causes about which he can write really, really long and potentially prize-winning books. When he did not find acceptance as a civil rights historian (too white), he decided to become an abortion-rights activist. But he was the wrong gender for that. Instead of doing a sex-change, he evidently decided to become an Obamaphile. One of his staffers sued him for harassment, and I hoped we had heard the last of him, but no such luck.
He’s a Co*k holster, bigtime.
Even if all of this is true, it would add nothing to my life to know about it.
We only have that second-hand.
I don't think we know the actual quote in the letter yet.
We'll know more when the book comes out, but it's possible that young Obama was "considering" whether he might be gay, rather than "considering" whether to choose a homosexual relationship over a heterosexual one.
We have the quote:
“Three years later, Obama wrote somewhat elusively to his first intimate girlfriend that he had thought about and considered gayness, but ultimately had decided that a same-sex relationship would be less challenging and demanding than developing one with the opposite sex, Garrow wrote.

More context at the link.
I don't think he actually said "I considered gayness."
That's Garrow's interpretation.
I guess the general idea is the same, but all the talk about Obama thinking or not thinking homosexuality was a choice only gets cleared up when we see the actual wording of the letter (if even then).
Where did Garrow get those details, if not from the letter?
That's not something you can tell with any certainty from Garrow's summary.
One would need to see the actual quote to tell.
Think about what you’re saying. You’re positing that Garrow would include exact details from the letter indicating that Obama had considered gayness, but discarded the idea over its lack of challenge.
Then you would believe that Garrow would include a copy of the letter itself that contradicts his summary. I.e.: a letter that says Obama considered whether or not he was gay, only to conclude that being gay wasn’t challenging enough.
You’re imagining a garbled mishmash. Odds are the letter itself is not copied in the book. The summary is all we’ll get.
Odds are 100% the copy isn’t in the book if it contradicts Garrow’s details. He wouldn’t be that stupid.
