FRENCH presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron has pulled ahead of right-wing firebrand Marine Le Pen after a furious war of words in the last TV debate ahead of Sunday’s vote, a snap poll has claimed.
Ms Le Pen made the most of her final opportunity to trade blows with the En Marche! candidate by hitting out at the political establishment, slamming the crumbling EU bloc and branding her competitor a “darling of the system”.
But her explosive performance did not do enough to push her ahead of Mr Macron according to a snap Elabe Poll for French TV channel BFMTV.
Voters are believed to have found Emmanuel Macron more convincing than the former Front National leader, with 63 per cent saying they were swayed by the centrist candidate and only 34 per cent backing the arguments of Ms Le Pen.

Can the author point to a poll where Macron was not ahead of Le Pen? He’s always been leading in the polls. So was Hillary.
Le Pen was never going to be able to "Make France Great Again." The best we could hope for was that she could "Make France Tolerable Again."

Even if Macron gets all the swing votes (and no one ever has)...there is no way Marine Le Pen can win.
Mme. Le Pen is and remains the underdog, and M. Macron remains the favorite. I don’t consider it likely that she wins, but I am curious about how much the debate boosts her support. Indeed, the Front Nationale doesn’t have to win, but gain enough support that they can no longer be ignored.
If she gets over 40%, and is able to leverage a respectable showing into a significant FN vote in the National Assembly elections on 11 and 18 (run off) June 2017. That in and of itself may force the establishment in a somewhat more sensible direction.
Or make france a bit more french again.

But, but, but the polls also predicted that BREXIT Polls indicated “an average of 48% Remain, 46% Leave and 6% undecided ahead of the vote.”
Pretty much the same prediction for Trump v. Clinton.
