In its latest survey, Zogby Analytics said that Hispanic support has hit 45 percent, two points higher than the president's generic approval.
That is 55 percent higher than the total Latino vote for Trump in the election. He won just 29 percent.
"The biggest surprise in this new poll is Trump's approval among Hispanic voters, which is at 45 percent approval/51 percent disapproval. In February the numbers were less among Hispanics at 39 percent approval/53 percent disapproval," said Zogby.

Point of confirmation
I still get those stupid survey questions sets and begging letter from Paul Ryan's desk
Asks if I agree with most of the Trump proposals
It's way past time for another survey

Why do some FreeRepublic articles show up with teeny tiny type, like this one?
Russian? Did somebody say Russian? Angry chimp noises. Hyperventilation.
“As one astute FReeper pointed out (and I concur, from experience): Ive never seen a Hispanic panhandler (and I live in a heavily Hispanic area). Im more likely to be approached by a white panhandler than a Hispanic one; there is just something culturally unacceptable about that to them (and I AM lumping them together on that score).”
Interesting. I’ve lived most of my life in Texas and California - and never saw one either.
Unfortunately it’s not culturally unacceptable for them to take welfare, food stamps, or free medical. Or to just take what they want from our houses.
Come to think of it, I haven’t seen a Hispanic panhandler either and I’m in the barrio. We get lots of young, junkie white kids on the street corners though. But I guess if you can work tax free by standing in the parking lot at Home Depot, it makes a difference.

I didn't think so......
A friend who was an election judge in WTX was surprised at the large number of Hispanics who voted forTrump. Ironic,if the Dems are counting on this group to bring them back to power.
I read that there has been a significant increase in the number of Hispanics seeking and gaining US citizenship. Threat of deportation or loss of temporary rights is increasing the number of Democrat oriented voters.
The difficulties getting to the border, crossing and then being able to stay weeds out the dumb ones. Thus our immigration laws tend to be an intelligence test so that only the smarter ones stay successfully.
Yeah, I won’t deny that - but I still like the fact that they won’t look you straight in the eye and ask for a handout.
Maybe, but it is a positive trait no matter how you cut it.
Definitely a possibility, and the only reason Dems want them imported here. On the flip side, any time ANY group comes here and “makes it”, they start looking at who has their hooks on their tax dollars and react as any American would. I believe that is something that will impact Asian voters as well; they’ve been told they are victimized minorities, but they watch their earnings here go to people who would have just died off in their homelands.
I don’t believe we are getting the brighter ones (the “cream of the crop”) anymore; it seems those can actually make a living back in their homelands (unless you take extreme cases like Venezuela or Cuba), and we get the dregs. Certainly in my area; we’re importing Hispanics here who are functionally illiterate in SPANISH. They aren’t needed as workers in these northeastern states with few jobs; they are needed as consumers of housing and the public school systems.
If Hispanics break even in 2020, so many states will either flip red (CO, NV, NM, maybe OR and WA) or leap out of reach (FL, AZ). That would be the making of a Trump dynasty right there.
There are far fewer of the elitist/yuppie whites that the Democrats are increasingly depending on.
Looking around my area, I cannot differentiate from the ones who have been here a while and those who just arrived. I do see many working very hard, and it is often dirty, nasty work for which does not need much literacy. Also, I see Hispanics who have been here for a while and speak some English with crews of Hispanics who could easily be close to illiterate. I have lived, studied and traveled in Mexico at various times and places for 7 months and traveled by bus and train, and traveled as far as Nicaragua by bus or car. I can more or less tell what kind of background the workers I see probably have based on size and clothing. The poor are often smaller.
I know enough Spanish that when I ask a food worker what the Spanish word is for “pretzel” and she responds “cookie”, then she has a pretty basic vocabulary - and she has been here for years.
Interesting about the size; besides the obvious (nutrition), I wonder if it is also a reflection of less (or no) European ancestry. I read that North Koreans that flee into Red China are easy to catch because not only do they lack the Chinese language, but they are short (definitely from malnutrition) - they can be up to 6” shorter than South Koreans.
So far as I know there is no Spanish word for Pretzel which is a northern European food. In Mexico they have small rolls which could actually be reconfigured into a pretzel shape if desired. Those are called Bolillos if I remember correctly from 50 years ago.
At that time I also travel far south in Mexico to San Cristobal de las Casas. There I stayed for a few days at the home of Franz Blom, a retired anthropologist. In the evening he would sit with some of us staying there and talk about related subjects. He pointed out that the Indians who lived traditionally, eating wild game and plants were much healthier than than the Indians who were trying to live the “civilized” life and eating tortillas and beans with chicken as a condiment. A group of us rented horses and rode 6 miles out to a roadless village. Three people there spoke Spanish, the mayor and his 2 deputies. The houses were traditionally built with steeply sloped thatch roofs. The people wore traditional woven garments with colors and patterns. All this looking much better than the sloppy shacks with sheet metal roofs, and the faded ragged shirts and pants held up with rope not belts worn by the “civilized” Indians. These are the desperate people who try to come for work in the US. Mainly it is the strongest and most motivated who attempt the trip.
