It seems like 40 miles of the border fence is getting upgraded to.....something......
Honestly, this is how I expect this entire process to go. There will be some physical improvements, some technological improvements, and some additional manpower and that will be “The Wall.”
Honestly, the lawsuits over land acquisition could take 10 to 15 years to resolve.
Probably the best solution is to put military patrols back on the border embed 1 to 3 border officers in them who can make the arrests. Make the patrols part of training for infantry, Marines & Special Forces. Give the border patrol plenty of drones. (Everybody needs practice patrolling!) Quadruple the number of available border patrol agents on the US Mexico border. Include the border state LEOs again embed federal border patrol officers, also allow the states to create a “State Corps of Observation”. This state corps mans observation posts, they can defend themselves but they can take no offensive action. They observe and report. Also allow citizens to “observe & report”, put a bounty on a correct observation & interdiction. Setting up something like this where any reported incursion can be acted upon within a very short time with an arrest ought to be as effective as a Pacific coast to Gulf coast wall. Walls can fail, think Hadrian Wall & the Great Wall if there’s no will to man them and give consequences to incursions it doesn’t matter if there is a wall or not.
I bet it would be cheaper in the long run then a physical wall.
The FERAL Government does not want the border sealed.
If they did they would march the 1st Infantry down there and some armor and in a day the issue would be over.
All this hoopla over a fence and wall is smoke and mirrors to cover the drugs that need to be imported daily into this country to fill the Senator and Representatives coffers
