Mick Mulvaney, the budget director, is currently having a press conference.
I was watching it, and learned for the first time, that there is several hundreds of millions of dollars in the budget, for ramping up fencing on the border (now) upgrading to a 20-foot structurally sound, actual border.
This is the first I had heard of that.
It seems the President is looking at playing much harder ball in September.
It seems the 2017 budget was closed, as of the budget agreement.
I am much, much happier than I was a couple of days ago.
Good discussion Mr. Mulvaney, and happy 19th anniversary to you.
What is “up-building”? Is that code for having hundreds of millions get sent to relatives of Congress-critters who have “consulting” companies who “study” border walls?
More BS. Another snow job.
Did Mulvaney provide a second press briefing? Or are the cable networks replaying parts of yesterday's press briefing?
Mulvaney did a great job ...

Mulvaney did an outstanding job. He absolutely controls the discussion and is fun to watch.
“...wavering...”
That is and was the intent of the media and the ‘rats - to start us (Trump’s base) wavering and they are scarily good at it.
For a strategy against their machinations, I have learned to wait until I hear from President Trump himself before I even think I have a glimmer of possibility of turning on him because the enemy is so good at using the Alinsky tactics (primarily the lies) to try to get us to turn on Trump.
I have learned to be skeptical of ALL sources and opinions including Savage, Rush, Drudge, Coulter, etc., and not form my position until I hear from Trump himself.
I was nervous too, until I heard the President personally explain that we had gotten a good deal that he was pleased with at the Air Force award.
ok..need to know what’s going on because I just got an email alert saying that this budget bans the border wall
“...Mulvaney did an outstanding job...”
Yes! Outstanding. Every FReeper who did not see this needs to watch it.
“...budget bans the border wall...”
Fake news.
dam On this Budget bill we need a scorecard on who f-ing who
first we hear the dem rolled us ....and now we hear ..no ...we rolled the dem
I don’t give a rat’s ass I just wanna know we building a frickin wall or not!...
There are a few matters where the Senate is forbidden to engage in the use of a minority to avoid taking the vote. Budget is one of them.
... there are at least 26 laws on the books today abrogating the filibuster. For example:
http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/rushton200504211218.asp <- Rushton
- You cannot filibuster a federal budget resolution (Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974).
- You cannot filibuster a resolution authorizing the use of force (War Powers Resolution).
- You cannot filibuster international trade agreements (Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority Act of 2002).
- And as the minority leader, Sen. Harry Reid (D., Nev.), well knows, you cannot filibuster legislation under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982.
Link is dead. I don't recall the title of the article.
ok..you say it fake news that they’re not building the border wall ...Then why is this crap out here ..gotta clean up this up
If you haven't, you ought to examine what caused that.
At some point, an effect in the opposite direction will happen - you'll be jazzed by somehting, when the truth of the matter is your position just got rolled.
20 feet? I thought was supposed to be 30 feet?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The top 10 feet will be electrified barbed wire.
Bravo - but beware of putting too much trust in Trump, too. For many issues, the relevant details are available. A small fraction of the population takes the time to check the relevant details, and MOST of THEM aim to mislead you.

I agree.
Probably many of us patriots who arent into deal-making, including me, have been wondering where the Trump that we saw during the race had disappeared to.
But Trump is evidently working the undercurrents as evidenced by Mulvaneys statement.
Almost as compactable as clowns.
Mexican clowns, you ask?
Dont even go there.
Oh darn. I should have switched. Old habits leaving tv on Direct #360.
All morning this morning I have been trying to explain that none of this with the wall and Military if Obama had a budget, but because he didn’t we got what we wanted...
A lot of ‘pearl clutches and couch fainting’ went on, and nope they had made up their minds that President Trump had sold them out, well he didn’t, he is working for America and Her People, remember that the next time you go off half cocked:

You can argue all you want, the laws are the laws...When President Trump lays HIS budget in Sept. then we will fight, and fight hard...this isnt the hill to die on...this is the remainder of Obamas budget term...thats why President Trump isnt fighting that hard for it, Im glad he got Military and Border Security into it...he knew it would pass because this isnt HIS budget...
You need to read how the budgets are done...

NO President Trump hasnt given up on healthcare...what this budget thing is, like I keep repeating to everyone, is the end of the Obama Budget...
Budgets go Sept. to Sept. Im glad that President Trump got Military and Border expenditures into it, most incoming Presidents cant do that because there is a budget...
Obama NEVER had a budget, he went into office in 2008 and there was NEVER a budget, this that you just saw, was how he ran his government, he didnt want a budget like other Presidents had because he wanted money when he wanted it for his Muslim Bros. and the Iran Deal and other things he was doing, and with a budget he couldnt do what he wanted...
Watch what happens when President Trump lays out HIS budget in Sept. That is the hill we fight for and we will win it...

IF bami had had a budget, President Trump wouldnt have been able to add Military and Border monies to that budget; therefore, because bami DID NOT have a budget, President Trump had the opportunity to add these two items, which are two of three of his main goals of his time in Office to do...
Stop and think about that for a minute...this makes it stronger for HIS budget in Sept. when he gives the Congress HIS budget...
The dems have just been played...they approved the Military and Border monies, how are they going to take it back now when he lays out HIS budget??? They cant...they lost the ground they stood on...

Harley, God Bless you. If you want to see it in that delusion, you have a perfect right to do so. IMO you are rationalizing the sinking of the Titanic with look what we learned about Ice burgs. Have a great day. I hope we can somehow pull out of this in one piece. I really do. but I will not avert my gaze to reality.
(1) $341,200,000 to replace approximately 40 miles of existing primary pedestrian and vehicle border fencing along the southwest border using previously deployed and operationally effective designs, such as currently deployed steel bollard designs, that prioritize agent safety; and to add gates to existing barriers;(2) $78,800,000 for acquisition and deployment of border security technology; and
(3) $77,400,000 for new border road construction:
