Sargon, why do you (and others) have this knee-jerk response that anyone criticizing Trump must be part of some NeverTrump crowd? Does that really help? Do you not allow or realize that we are not all a bunch of Yes people and that that won’t help anyone to simply be Yes people. Did you drink the Kool-Aid, buy enough Vaseline, to stand fast. Er, bend over and take whatever occurs with a smile?
I critique the substance. If someone claims that they are giving up on Trump because he has given in on the wall, they have to provide some evidence that the wall is excluded in this proposal. Nobody has done that so far. There might be a provision in this document that excludes the wall, but it needs to be shown to justify this particular criticism.
Events rather than groupthink are now in the saddle.

I just call them as I see them. When I see an ongoing pattern, I make note of it. A pattern I don't see is one of trust, loyalty, or even routine fairness from some sources.
I've disagreed vehemently with this President on several issues thus far, but I try to maintain a sense of perspective, and not act like every setback is some kind of profound betrayal, worthy only of endless second-guessing.
As I've said before, this President has earned my trust and loyalty, and has shown that his political instincts are quite superb, given what he has been able to accomplish against all odds, both during the election cycle and since.
I trust nobody in this government more than President Trump; therefore I will continue to give him the benefit of the doubt—because he has earned it, by any reasonable criteria.
If others prefer to be "fair weather" friends to this President, that is their prerogative. I simply believe that such attitudes—especially as a default—are counterproductive, and, indeed, aid and abet the Enemy...
