As family and friends mourned the death of a 15-year-old boy shot in the head by a police officer in a Dallas suburb over the weekend, the police chief said Monday that new evidence showed the killing did not unfold the way the authorities had originally claimed.
The Police Department in Balch Springs, Tex., said Sunday that the officer, whose name has not been released, fired on a car carrying the teenager, Jordan Edwards, a freshman at Mesquite High School in Balch Springs, because the car was reversing down a street toward the officer in an aggressive manner.

You bet. It's why it's imperative those being interrogated do the exact same.
The cops will always protect themselves in situations like this or they will at least make a good attempt. As soon as they find there are inconsistent statements on their part, which are not supported by evidence, they immediately go into a bunker mentality.
You start taking about, "Being happy to cooperate but at the time I'm so upset by what happened that I won't be of much assistance, and I will be more than happy to cooperate after I have calmed down and had a chance to confer with my lawyer.
They're not going to like that regardless if ya serve it up with warm cookies and milk.
But what if the audio of you they're recording is picked up by the cops is a weak transmission, or has wind noise or other interference which causes the audio of you to break up, cause static, or the transmission momentarily drops in and out etc..Happens all the time.
And all the jury hears is you stating, "I'm so upset by what happened.... after I... calm.. down...my lawyer. Or what ever words get chopped up by a compromised broken transmission.
Your life and freedom are on the line here. Playing the nice cooperative guy is certainly not worth the risk.
It was not me who said one should be cooperative with the police.
I said one should only demand to consult an attorney or otherwise risk have their words twisted by the police.
I fully understand that, it wasn’t your comments. Btw every time I attempted to respond to the individual who stated that, my comments were censored. I have no idea why.
Take care.
