And it’s not just farms in the Central Valley of California where these “seasonal workers” go, you haven’t lived until you go to Yellowstone where some of the servers in the lodge are now Chinese speaking halting Engrish.
Once upon a time the only people who worked the park in the summers were American kids (like my father) and were called “savages” because they slept in the basement dorm of Old Faithful Lodge.
An American would probably get knifed there now.
I went the Yellowstone a few summers ago. I don’t believe I met one American kid working in the concessions at the park.
